National Right to Carry Reciprocity Act...passed!

Recommended Posts

Then why did pro gun representatives vote against the bill? Then why did pro gun representatives voice major complaints against the bill. Only the NRA thinks this is a good idea. Think for yourself. They aren't this smart? Have you been paying attention. Obama said guns used in Mexico were from the united states without any evidence. Later it came out that his justice department had been sending guns to Mexico forcibly. The not so smart plot:

1 send american guns to Mexico

2 claim that 2A is dangerous for Mexico and US as gangs in Mexico are being armed by American guns

3 remove gun rights

Only problem it didn't work out right.

{EDIT--> THEIR STILL NOT IN JAIL FOR THIS FIASCO, THEY MUST BE PRETTY SMART FOR THAT TO HAVE WORKED OUT FOR THEM. I CHALLENGE ANY ONE OF YOU TO SEND OVER 2,000 FIREARMS TO A FOREIGN GANG AND GET AWAY WITH IT AFTER CAUSING THE DEATH OF 2 FEDERAL AGENTS SMARTY PANTS}

They are not that smart? Where did this Solyndra thing come from? People who accepted money for Obama because it would be illegal for him to take that much money himself, later put ad campaigns together. These people "bundled" money and helped Obama. Did he remember that they helped him? Well that is tough to prove but they did receive half a billion dollars in the form of a government secured loan, payed themselves most of that money, and later went bankrupt. $500,000,000.00 turned into a paycheck from a loan. Not that smart? You try taking $5,000 from anyone and tell me how it works out for you. Try taking that much from the government and tell me how it went if you can. They took that much, $500,000,000.00, and kept it and are not in jail nor are they going to give it back. What planet have you been on these last three years?

Pro - Gun

what is your definition of pro - gun

is it that it takes away my right to freedom and privacy just to give you the right to cary in my state? You could have put pressure on your state legislature to fix that problem without the Federal Government taking over the hole process. Is that pro gun? So i guess the Brady Campaign was pro gun too. Registration would be pro gun also. So would registering ammunition. That would be pro gun right? somebody looses rights and you dance around like you won. I can cary here and Wyoming and Washington and Texas and Vermont and Alaska and Arizona and Oregon and South Dakota and Idaho and North Dakota and Iowa and Missouri and Kansas and Oklahoma and Nebraska and Utah and New Mexico and Louisiana and Arkansas and Tennessee and Virginia and Florida and Alabama and North Carolina and Indiana and Michigan and Delaware. I have three CCW's one here in Colorado, one in Washington, and one in Oregon, because i am there often. What does that leave out? States without CCWs which are not involved in the bill anyway. All this does is nationalize the laws regarding CCW's. Good job great effort but you still fucked me in the end. I wasn't on a list and I soon will be. I didn't have to inform here in Colorado soon I will have to. Colorado kept me pretty well covered, but now it isn't their job anymore, it is the ATF and the FBI's job. HOW IS THIS GOOD?

would this have been more convincing because this is all i think you are hearing

AHHH EVIL GOVERNMENT AILIEN PLOTS WITH CLONES AND ERIC HOLDER OBAMMA OBAMMA OBAMMA BEROCK HUSAIN OBAMA EVIL MUSLIM TERRORISTS TIN FOIL HATS ON IN THE BASEMENT LISTENING TO SORT WAVE RADIO BIOMETRICSBIOMETRICSBIOMETRICSBIOMETRICS DNA SCANS OF YOUR CONCEALD WEAPONS PERMIT BLAH BLAH BLAH

National Defense Authorization Act

Ya right, but why does the Federal Government need the US military to be authorized to detain indefinitely United States Citizens? try this on for size there Mr. OSheeple.

Again this bill does nothing but involve the Federal Government in the Concealed Weapons Permit process (EDIT "this bill" referring to 822 not the NDAA). States can still opt out of allowing other states from carrying there. Colorado got it done all by her self and we can carry in every state worth going to. I'm pretty sure sooner rather than later you will find out how wrong your trust of the globalist leaders of our government is. Sooner rather than later you will see how much smarter than the rest of us they look. Politicians making money hand over fist and giving it to all their friends while you work for a living. While you work for a living they tax the sh:t out of you. That is where they get the money, YOU. You and I look like chumps. Stupid knuckle dragging chumps.

They would not need this bill if they don't plan to piss a lot of us off. Welcome to the United Socialists of Amerika.

Got to agree with shooter on this. If this does come to pass without any added hanky panky I will consider it a very good thing.

I'm in PA and surrounded by states that do not recognize my PA CCW.

It would be nice to go to the Jersey shore or Delaware without becoming a criminal the moment I cross the state line.

NEW JERSEY DOES NOT RECOGNIZE OUT OF STATE PERMITS< BUT ALLOWS OUT OF STATE RESIDENTS (people who don't live in New Jersey) TO OBTAIN A LICENSE. How did the bill help you DAVE?

Delaware likewise allows non-residents to be licensed for concealed carry. So again? How did this help you?

Please someone who is informed tell me how this helps. When we find you, you will be the rare exception to the rule.

Of all the emails and news letters I have read concerning this bill, they all alluded to the fact every state has different licensing requirements and laws concerning CCW which could force the Feds to set forth Federal CCW licensing requirements and laws for true reprocity to take place as intended. I think it would be great if this would happen without a hitch but if the Feds get involved at these levels, I fear a snowball effect and more controls put in place in regards to CCW.

It gives the feds a toehold on CCWs. What do the Feds do with anything they get their grubby mitts on?

IF THEY DON'T MAKE NEW REGULATIONS THE POLITICIANS DON'T GET PAID OFF BY THE LOBBYISTS FOR WRITING THEM A CERTAIN WAY.

Regulations... ALL regulations... are the stock and trade of the political class. Companies and interest groups bid for the favors, and the vote goes to the highest bidder in terms of cash and not votes. Most incumbents are safe, so the loyal Ds & Rs won't throw them out no matter what they do.

Yeah, keep the feds out.

Honest question: When, previously, has a seemingly pro-gun bill been amended with anti-gun amendments, been passed, and then rights were lost? Like I said, this is an honest question.

Firearm Owners Protection Act in 86 the Hughes Amendment

Thanks for the history lesson, that took me a lot of digging Shooter (no sarcasm I did a lot of reading before I found an answer).

Well, PA makes it very easy to get your CCW. Fill out the form, picture, background check, pay the man and your permit arrives by mail in a couple weeks.

Its my understanding that many other states require classes, (translate money) and rather large application fees (translate more money).

Since the Supreme Court recently upheld the God given right to self protection why must I jump through individual states hoops?

I will echo Waite in saying I admire your concern for our rights.beer.gif

It doesn't say anything about a federal standard being imposed for CCW requirements, though. It simply says "If a state X allows it's citizens to carry a concealed weapon on a permit, then anyone from another state who allows their citizens to carry a concealed weapon on a permit can also carry in state X".

My feelings exactly.

Just to play devil's advocate -

How about states' rights?

If state X requires permit holders to take a CCW class AND a firearm safety course, and state Y only requires a 4-hour class, should the federal gubmint be able to force state X to recognize state Y permits despite the lower training standard?

This is an odd situation where people who are usually up in arms (heh) about states' rights are suddenly arguing for federal supremacy.

You guys are only reading the bill in black and white text. Sure nothing else is specified. The pro-gun guys (not NRA) who have legally disected this bullshit have stated these things will need to happen for true reprocity to happen.

except you are playing the wrong devils advocate. The Second Amendment says we have the right without infringement, how can states have the right to infringe?

That's exactly what I said in the sister-thread in the Political Section.

We all definitely agree on the baseline principals of the issue. The right to keep and bear arms should not be infringed. I think we differ on out trust of the Federal Government to look out for those rights. Would you agree Shooter? Waite?

Basically, I agree with that. I don't put 100% trust in many things, really, let alone the fed gov. I guess we're just interpreting things differently.

Either way, we'll have to see where it goes from here.

But beef, if I were playing the other side, wouldn't I be playing some sort of "angel's advocate?"

So I'll continue to play the devil's advocate.

The Second Amendment says we have the right without infringement, how can states have the right to infringe?

Because the states have police powers to regulate within their borders. And while it's true that the second amendment reserves the people's right to keep and bear arms, the scope of that right has never been interpreted to be absolute or absolutely broad. I mean, we have laws that prohibit felons and the mentally ill from bearing arms. Most people think that's a good thing.

Flame on.

I do.

-Well in that case is it true that on the 1st of December, 2011 you did have more than 7 days of food in your house?

No, I do not.

Well then in that case did you also have two Saigas and a handgun with more than 200 rounds of ammunition each?

No. I do not own a single Saiga, nor do I have in excess of 200 rounds of ammunition per firearm that I do own.

Pardon me if I press further but have you ever served in the military?

I cannot answer that question (in a court of law) without counsel from both Hewlett-Packard and the US military present.

Now, it depends on whether that law is 'any one of the following' or 'all three of the following' as to whether I'm a terrorist. And I've already sent my congressman a letter expressing my concerns over that clause. Too bad he didn't listen. That is also why I'm voting his ass OUT next year.

Now, kindly go take your paranoid tendencies elsewhere, you're clogging the bandwidth that could better be spent discussing interesting things like Saigas.

What can I say to a member of the SAIGA 12 Forum who doesn't own a Saiga? Welcome to the Saiga forum newbie.
