ziondogg 0
So unfortunally I havent spent as much time with my beloved 7.62 as Ive wanted to until now. I just converted her and have been putting quite a few rounds through her and now have her broke down for a cleaning. My question is are the bolt and bolt support suppose to be all stainless color or natural black. When Im cleaning it, it seems like it stripping the black off rather than cleaning it off(if that makes sense). All Im using is clp, can anyone shed some light for me? Thanks
dayofruin 425
Sounds like you're stripping the paint off. I don't think it's a big deal though. I bead blasted the carrier on my S-12 and haven't had any rust or anything. But I think all that's supposed to have the "stainless" look is the piston and rod.
DrThunder88 912
The CLP may be softening the paint, which could cause it to rub off. I also wouldn't suspect it's a big deal as long as you keep the white metal oiled. Really it boils down to user preference.
