TonyRumore 1,332
Here is yet another modification requested by Prophet. I machined and knurled the cocking handle from a piece of 4140 steel, very similar to a Galil style handle. However, since the stock Saiga sight rib blocks access to the knob, I had to dog leg it rearward about a 1/2". This mod looks fairly simple, but it was quite time consuming. I will be adding this option to the Tromix list of Saiga modifications. No pricing yet. http://www.hunt101.com/showphoto.php?photo=314194 Tony Rumore Tromix Corp www.tromix.com

TonyRumore 1,332
I am not sure where a Kobra sight mounts, so I couldn't tell you if it will clear or not. Here is another pic of the knob viewed from the top. The inboard edge of the knob is 5/8" away from the center line of the receiver. When the bolt is rearward the center of the knob is 3 and 3/8" forward from the back edge of the receiver. Hope this helps. http://www.hunt101.com/showphoto.php?photo=314220 Normally, you don't want to use an upturned handle when you are running an optic, since your hand will get torn up by the optic when you rack the carrier back. I have a Galil style AK chambered in .458 SOCOM, and I cut off the Galil upturned handle and rewelded it sticking straight out the right side. It works much better like that with an optic in place. Here's a pic of the straight-out handle. http://www.hunt101.com/showphoto.php?photo=314224 Edited August 14, 2005 by TonyRumore
