schultze13 354
The factory brake is the best in IMO. Not the coolest looking but works great.

thebuns1 4,323
yeah the one designed for the '74 is by far the most effective.
sickness 89
OK, cool. Anyone happen to know of a place that sells the brake and FSB pre-welded together? I don't need to switch around brakes, so I figure I may as well keep the rifle NY compliant. I like bringing it home to shoot on the holidays and such.

jimdigriz 580
If you have an AK 74 front sight block already, go with the one all the other guys are talking about. However, if your barrel is not yet thread, there are better options out there.

Also, the AK74 style brake isn't leaps and bounds over anything else performance wise: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhZap2F1AWs Cheapest and readily available? Yes. It's not a wonder worker though. If your barrel isn't threaded then look at all the 5.56 options. BattleComp, FSC556, etc... Edited December 28, 2011 by jamesavery22
ViperHummel 3
I wanted to go with a 5.56 brake, as it made more sense to do, but to keep it simple and cheap I did the J-Tac47 by PWS... I'd rather have the FSC556.
jimdigriz 580
If you can afford the Battlecomp, it is the best all-around brake, in my experience.
NPDSoldat 0
The factory break is the best hands down. I do like pws brakes but I always go back to the original.birdcage.
