JOE88XJ 0 Posted December 27, 2011 Report Share Posted December 27, 2011 I was thinking{i know its dangerous} that a saiga .410 converted to be a pistol would be bad a$$ similar to a draco, I was thinking as long as a stock could not be mounted this could be done?? thought ?? Shandlanos 1,470 Posted December 27, 2011 Report Share Posted December 27, 2011 If it's a smoothbore and you're using the original receiver, it would be an NFA weapon - a Short-Barreled Shotgun. If it's a smoothbore on a new receiver, it would be an AOW. If it is chambered for a different cartridge, say .45 colt or .45-70, has a rifled barrel, and just happens to be capable of using .410 shotshells, it would probably pass muster as a handgun. The differences between an SBS, an AOW, and a "handgun" are very slight, sometimes, but they are there. Previous post has it pretty much right, insofar as a general standpoint.
