leadchucker 12
I saw these surplus European, new condition, steel AK47 7.62x39 30rd mags for $9.95 each. That's the cheapest I've seen the all metal mags. I see others for $15 or more each. Anyway, at that price, I bought one. Seems well enough made, but there are a lot of sharp metal edges on it. I haven't tried to load it or shoot it yet. I don't know anything about AK mags. Are the more expensive ones any better, worth the extra bucks?
Revolver Ocelot 3
I personally like the chinese style since they dont have the rib in the back. I think i got mine for 10 or 12 bucks each.
haugpatr 972
If the mags fits and feeds well and the spring is good, you are good to go. Higher price mags would look better, but both will feed 30rds into your rifle.
DrThunder88 912
I think there are some newly-manufactured Bulgarian steel magazines that are pretty spot-on for surplus. There are some reports that they are made of thinner steel, but the examples I've seen look and feel as robust as any surplus mag. Where did you find these mags? Shandlanos 1,470
That's pretty normal. I paid $7.05/ea shipped for my last batch, but I had to order 50 to get that pricing. I don't know about thinner steel with the new Bulgarian production steel mags, but the ones I've seen have plastic followers, which do sort of irk the AK purist in me. I like my Chinese/Romanian/Bulgarian/Russian/Yugoslavian all-steel construction magazines.

wtjosaas 72
http://www.aimsurplu...x?item=MAK47E30 I ordered 4 of these and they will be here today. I'll let you know what I think when I get them.
draftpick 5
I ordered some a few weeks ago. Mine were in very good shape and feed fine. Mine had some very light oil and metal followers.
Agent Lemon 157
http://www.aimsurplu...x?item=MAK47E30 I have 10 of those, and I like them. Am going to order 10 more. Although, these are the only ones that I have owned aside from the 40 round mag from CSS with the rib on the back of the mag. edit: forgot to say that the finish/color/whatever on them scratches moderately easily from my sloppy tactical reloads. TARE 47
I also like the spineless chinese mags just cause they're easier on the hands. The best I've found are the bulgarian waffle mags I like them cause they're lighter don't have as much rustable surface, harder to dent and don't mar surfaces they rub on. wtjosaas 72
Just got them. Seem to be very nice. All metal. Like new condition. Can't wait for my Saiga to show up so I can try them out!
leadchucker 12
I hope you also have a bullet guide ordered .You'll be spending some time on the Saiga with a file before you can try those mags out.

JoeAK 337
I've got two of those and they seem to work fine in my saiga. Haven't had any issues other than one being tight and one being loose, but that's just nitpicking on my part.
Buford T Justice 17
I hope you also have a bullet guide ordered .You'll be spending some time on the Saiga with a file before you can try those mags out. My Saiga is unconverted at this point will these work for me without doing anything? Is the bullet guide only needed when the conversion is done?
imarangemaster 315
No, you need a bullet guide to use Mil-surp mags whether or not you "convert" it. (I say "restore")
