leo_tposha 1
Its a 2009 model I picked up new in sept 2011, orig. imported from RAA then through Legion. I did all the work myself minus welding and plating. Overall an awesome build now on to buy a Saiga 7.62 :-) Before: After welding: After Plating: Finished:
evlblkwpnz 3,418
Definitely different. Not my speed (see username), but you have definitely made it yours now. You only live once, may as well do a nickel plated S12 if you think you'll like it. +1 ETA: Are my eyes deceiving me or did you weld up the trigger axis pin hole in that one pic? ETA 2: Yep, you did.... What is going on with the front rivets in the rear block? That reciever looks like it got really hot from here. Just my eyes or what? I was going to ask the same thing as I scrolled through the pictures. He welded over the right side trigger axis pin and he welded over the left side safety hole too. I like the look. Yea my welder screwed up and i had to re drill the axis pin hole but his work came out nice lol I sent one out for welding.... once. After that, I bought a Lincoln welder and taught myself how to weld. I figured "Hell.... I can fuck it up myself for free. May as well try it." LOL! I've gotten pretty good with it. Now, I get them prepped and a few minutes later I'm welded up and ready to start filing/sanding.

When I get my Saiga 7.62 im gonna do my own welding Ive always wanted to learn lol because after the guy wanted $150 for welding I cussed him and said he screwed up I had marked the holes to fill and what not to fill lol have the same mentality now ive got 1200 invested in it Edited January 3, 2012 by leo_tposha

Use a copper backer (flattened piece of copper pipe, pre-'65 penny, etc). Weld it, file it, and go back and fill any voids of there are any. The main thing is to use the correct wire for the material and use the correct settings for the metal thickness. I'm no pro, but my MIG welder makes me look like I've been doing it for a long time, lol. Try it. My negative experience was similar in that I told the guy verbally, and in writing (with actual pics too), exactly what I wanted him to do. He didn't weld up the wrong holes, but I specifically told him not to grind anything, at all. I picked up the piece and, sure enough, he went apeshit with a 4" grinder on the receiver. It wasn't too bad, but it took me hours to blend that shit out, especially on the radiused corners of the receiver. Looks fine now, but if he would have listened I could have just knocked down the welds and filled any small voids with body filler. Live and learn. I don't feel so bad now.... he only charged me $55 to fuck mine up....
Bridis 319
Looks good, but does it function? Usually when you add material to the bolt and bolt carrier it causes the gun the FTF/FTE. I'm also not a big fan of the diving board on the UTG quad rail. You might want to check out the Chaos Extended Quad Rail or the Chaos Titan. IMO, the Chaos rail systems are the best looking rails on the market.

theturtlepond 31
You should have gotten rid of that ugly barcode mark. I love the way that bolt carrier looks though. Amazing.
RED333 1,025
I used to ride a bike, till a blue hair in a cage ran me off the interstate. We have a saying "Chrome wont get ya home", but that finish is differnt. You have put your mark on it, it is "YOURS" for sure.
