markdavidson 28
Why are the 74 type brakes so prevalent? It seems to me that 7 out of AK's are dressed with them not crabbing, just curious
Joesmoe 14
From what I've heard there the best brake you can buy.
markdavidson 28
then there is a ton of mis-information...because even a real type 74 isn't nearly the best and the knock-offs are just a big counter-balance
hutchsaiga 93
People like the style I think. And an actual com bloc 74 brake with the zig zag cuts have been proven to be a pretty effective brake. They are more effective then the classic slant brake and are easier to install on a saiga since no threading is necessary if you install an AK74 FSB with 24mm threads already present you can eliminate the need for the expensive specialty Die and TAT tools. imarangemaster 315
I got my 7.62x39 AK-74(103) brake from CNC Warrior. It works GREAT! I am not sure if he still makes them, though.
imarangemaster 315
CNC still has them: US made part http://www.cncwarrior.com/shop/22041-bulgarian-24mm-type74-brake/
wtjosaas 72
Says they are out of stock.
geofri 4
Won't lie. Looks were about 80% of the reason I installed one. I just like 'em. Lots people argue that for semi-auto they aren't much of any help to begin with. As mentioned above, I have heard they are one of the better brakes, and I liked the whole '74 look, so it was natural to install it with all the other hardware when doing the front end conversion. imarangemaster 315
I have the CNC Warrior AK74(103) brake and a vented Chinese gas tube. between the two (installed at the same time) I notice less felt recoil and muzzle whip. My brass only goes 12 feet now instead of 20!
