Replacement steel AK mag floor plates coming soon.

Recommended Posts

Just want to start by saying. This is a rough prototype stamping and has only a basic cold blue finish. Production floor plates will be laser cut, square hole will also be cleaner cut.

I have the plates on order, should be done in about a month or so depending on schedule conflicts. Pricing will be reasonable just not yet determined.

There are slight dimensional differences with the stampings. Ours is closest to a Chinese.... I kinda look at it that its easier to prove its domestically made, since its a few thousandths different... These are made to work on both the spline and spineless yugo imports. May have slight fitting issues with the more exotic AK mags, but then again who is going to change the floorplate on a collectible magazine?

As far as I know no one makes them... But there are like 400 million people in the US so odds are someone else could be making them, and I've never heard of it.

Also did some checking, I've tried

Korean (current sporting versions, the gray phosphate finished 30s, and the 'Teflon' coated ones)

Chinese (Norinco 30, 5 round and 'chogos')

Yugo (both current and surplus)

Hungarian

Bulgarian

Russian (I think molot)

Romanian

And what looks to be a Bosnian, it has two ribs and looks like it crawled through hell in a chest rig.

All fit to satisfaction.

Followers are another trick, working on a cost effective way to make the curved front and back.

We sent off a lot of orders of them..

They are just a floor plate, not much to them. We've checked them on the samples of magazines we have on hand, they fit the normal cheap surplus mags, and the new Korean magazines fine.
