M14 kangaroo pouches work great... if you're ataching them to a molle load carrier (vest) you can just remove the bungees and tie them directly to the vest. I put my mags in top down so if I get rained on my mags don't fill with water. Pretty much anything that will carry an m14 (m1a) magazine should carry a 308 saiga mag. Just remember if it has a closed top that it will only hold a 10-15 round siaga mag... the 20+ round mags you'll either have to modify them or use the open top pouches like I do. I got mine on amazon for $25/pair (2 sinlge pouches) and they're holding up well.

FWIW, my next set of pouches will be home made... I want something not made of nylon, and with out velcro on it. I prefer a heavy denim or cotton type material to the nylon and I HATE velcro. it is the absolute fastest way to give up your own position.

Hi there!

I have a number of ProMag magazines. The floorplate is 1 & 1/2 inches by 3 & 3/8 inches, the body is 1 & 1/8th by 3& 1/8th inches, with an overall length of 8 &1/4th inches.

What magazine pouches would work for this, preferably in conjunction with an Army surplus LBE belt?

Editted, rather than add another post to add:

I solved my problem.

The AK-47 Magazine Pouch German Rain Camo Pattern pouches from CTD at $3 each? While they are built to hold 4 AK mags, they will hold 3 of these ProMags and with a couple of alice clips will attach to a LBE belt.

Additional edit: Where the 24rd ProMags were a bear, two 20rd SGM mags will fit fairly well in a M16 mag pouch.

I got some cheaper pouches to test fit with our mags. Here are the findings (feel free to copy my photos and reuse them on any other forums other than Warrortalk).

Here is an Eagle Industries triple M4 pouch, holding two 20 round Saiga mags. Its a snug fit, but you can pull them out. This is not a celled pouch so it will cause finish damage to the magazine. (The mags have finish issues, which is why I have them to test with). Retail price is $10

Next up German G3 pouch.

The mags just drop in, main fit issue is that they are taller than G3 mags to the lid flap will not latch on the pouch. It should be possible to lengthen the strap by 3/4" by splicing in a piece of web. Alternatively, one could also remove the lid flap and install bungee retainers. These are celled pouches and should not cause finish damage. Retail is $5 currently

Condor Triple AR/AK pouch.

This is a commercial AR/AK mag pouch, holds 9 AK mags, or for our present use, 6 Csspecs 20 round Saiga or vepr mags, The front cell has enough room for a pair of stripper clips in each cell. Note the back pouches are not celled so mags will have finish damage with use. Retail price is $20

Surplus Rain pattern AK pouch.

Holds 4 AK mags, or in this case 4 Csspecs 20 round Saiga or vepr magazines (also works well for 8 round saiga 20 gauge mags).

Really high quality, canvas construction. Celled pouch should protect the mags very well. Current retail is $3

"Surplus Rain pattern AK pouch."

After modifying the belt loops to fit my gear this one works very well.

If four mags seem too tight you can run three and have enough room for a box of ammo in the forth slot if the box is of the long and flat variety or some other useful item can fit well.

Price is certainly right, CTD damn near gives these things away.

Here's a rehash of what I put in the chest rig post. Gratuitous CSSpec 308 Saiga Mag porn.

These mag pouches are HSGI Taco's with the duty belt adapter. They are normally molle pouches. Run about 45 dollars each and 20 for the duty belt adapter. Super durable.

On that note, I do love them, but they are a major PITA to get the CSSpec's Saiga mags in, mainly because the lugs. That being said, I've never been timed putting a mag into a pouch wink.png. The other great thing is they're multi purpose. I can put my Bulgy Circle 10 5.56 mags in here, my magpul 308 mags, any of my pistol mags in the front, whatever. It all fits in the pouches. Good for people with lots of different gear.
