1nterceptor 5
I know this has been done before, but I'm so happy with the way it turned out I just have to post some pictures. I like the look of the factory charging handle, so I copied the design for the left side. I started with a piece of 1/2" bar stock, roughed it out on my old Bridgeport mill, then finished the finger groove radius with a file. I milled a slot in the bolt carrier to get a little more contact between the parts before TIG welding. I could smooth out the welds, but they are not in the way and I don't mind the way they look.

poolingmyignorance 2,191
Came out looking real good. I'd blend those welds though, give it that factory look.
steelshield 0
Nice job, there. Could a MIG wirefeed welder do what you did there?
poolingmyignorance 2,191
Yes it could..but you'd have to be really good with it, and "trigger" it in. Also take great care to protect the rest of it from splatter.
sonofliberty 6
How about a few pics of it in your rifle? I've seen the setup in other rifles but I can never get enough.
