lewie212 37
I am looking to find a bore snake for a 545. I have not had any luck finding one at all. Will one for a .223/5.56 work? None of my .22 cleaning supplies will fit down the barrel, but I was thinking that a boresnake might have better luck. Any opinions out there? Also looking for any other 545 cleaning supplies that I can find. -Dan
wagdog 0
I use the bore snake for 22 caliber and it works fine. I think it says it is for 22, 223, and 5.56 on the packaging.

LtDan 4
I just bought a .204 Snake and it works OK, also have a 22 Cal snake. I like the Otis system the best it does work on the 5.

hendrcs 0
I bought a .22 snake and couldn't pull it all the way down the barrel. Had to really tug to get it back out. Anyone else experience this?

Anyone else experience this? You probably did not put enough CLP or cleaner on it? If it is really dry, you will have problems pulling it through.
hendrcs 0
That was probably the problem - it was pretty dry. Thanks.
jbrubaker 13
I had a .204 snake lying around and that's what I use for a quick clean.
fflincher 8
I had a .204 snake lying around and that's what I use for a quick clean. I use different bore snakes/cleaning brushes for black powder and corrosive primers to avoid possible contamination of guns which use smokeless non-corrosive ammo. Too anal?
