1993 0
I've readed and watched videos how people use white or red lithium grease does it make a difference if it's black and it's for multi purpose grease? Thanks!
blfuller 2
Only thing I'd use grease on the AK is the cam lobe on the bolt and its slot in the carrier. I'm sure you could use most any grease you like. Everyone probably has their own personal preference.
liberty -r- death 1,445
If I'm not mistaken red lithium grease is supposed to be more heat tolerant. BMW calls for it to lube the splines on the final drive shaft gears for many of their motorcycles. The mechanics manual called for it when I did the spline lube on mine. RED333 1,025
Not by "trade" I install and repair restaurant cooking equipment. Some of it just happens to be live or self contained steam. Red: your a steamfitter? Sorry for highjacking
G O B 3,516
Black molly ani-sieze. 'A little dab will do ya!'- Use it on the blind plug threads too.
Bchance 0
@RED........ Will you repeat that please, I spent the majority of my time watching the "mirror" instead of reading the posts..... :
Gunfanatic 221
I use a little of this on the bolt cam and rails.
mancat 2,368
I use lithium myself, but really any hi-temp grease is going to work good on an AK. Anti-seize, moly, lithium, etc. If using an oil, heavier is better - 15w40 diesel oil is what I would use if an oil is desired for some reason. Anything else will sling off immediately.
