Hi

I have been having great success with my bolt action rifle since I "floated" the barrel and bedded the action. This reduces the stress on the action from any mis-matches to the stock. The barrel is left to only be supported by the action so that the barrel is free and not hindered by the stock.

Has anyone tried to apply any of these ideas to a Saiga or any AK based firearms. I am thinking of putting stiffeners along the sides of the receiver and then run them out into the forearm. I would support the forearm on the stiffeners leaving the barrel to be supported only by its attachment to the action or receiver. If I use a bipod I would attch it to the forearm so that the barrel is still "floating".
