markdavidson 28
Does anyone know of a way to retrofit a red dot sight to take a QD lever in place of the clamping screw? my google-fu hasn't come up with anything yet
DrThunder88 912
I've been thinking of replacing the crossbolt on one of my Primary Arms red dots with an "adjustable handle" from McMaster-Carr, but I think the threading on the sight body is an unusual metric variety. markdavidson 28
can you link to what your thinking?
DrThunder88 912
Oops, I didn't see your follow-up question. I don't think I can link to a non-vendor website, even an industrial supply place. Check McMaster.com and search for "adjustable handle". It should look something like this: (Stolen from McMaster-Carr)

Something like this gives you no ability to clamp the optic back down with the same amount of torque each time. You're not going to get a good re-zero with it, I don't think. You might get close enough for S12 / buckshot patterns. If you're not concerned about re-zero (i.e. it only comes off if the optic fails) then you're probably OK. markdavidson 28
yea this is not the direction I am going I found a UTG QD mount I am going to try (20 bucks I'll try it) If not I found a QD retrotfit kit for an Aimpoint T1 that I may be able to use for about 40$
