VAGNONIRS 4
I just purchased an S-12 conversion kit with a Kicklite buttstock. My problem is both the factory buttstock and the kicklite use the factory trigger guard for its bottom mount. Don't I need to cut that off to do the conversion? If that's the case what holds the bottom of the new butstock?
Fallschirmjager667 729
if there is room for the 2 screws in the top you don't need the bottom one at all
RED333 1,025
Hammer is right, I only use 2 on mine.
VAGNONIRS 4
Really? Why is that screw there then?
Fallschirmjager667 729
that looks like it was one of those pistol grip stocks for a non converted gun that had the pistol grip cut off
poolingmyignorance 2,191
Yea, what is that big saw marked junk on there? Is that from the factory? To awnser your question: to do a "CONVERSION" you MUST remove the factory trigger guard. There is no need for the bottom screw. Now..many stocks have a place fot a screw, or come with a self tapping screw to put where you removed the rivet from the trigger guard and that holds the stock. VAGNONIRS 4
So all they did to make the kicklite stock fit a converted Saiga was cut off the pistol grip!? That seems kind of cheap. Ok so everything will be fine if I use the top 2 screws. Cool. Thanks for the help.
Scott Kenny 144
You could certainly rig up a strap of metal that goes between the pistol grip and the receiver, using the PG nut and that bottom screw to hold the tab in place. Not sure it's worth it, though, if the top 2 screws are strong enough.
Cobra 76 two 2,677
The bottom screw is necessary to hold the stock tube to the adapter that fits in the receiver. Don't remove it. As was said above already, you only need to use the top two screws to mount the stock.
VAGNONIRS 4
Ok, so I've done the complete conversion and did what you guys said. I test fired it yesterday. WOW. so much nicer. tt charges easier. The bolt hold open works better. The trigger feels more responsive. And the best of all recoil is WAY down. As you can see by my avatar, I'm used to being abused by my Saiga. Not this time. I even shot it one handed, and it felt fine. I love this set up.
