crankywanker 7
Love this Saiga. The conversion was a little trickier than what was shown on the video as my BHO spring popped off after I got it on there and the axis pins kept slipping out but now it's great! Can't wait to take it to the range tomorrow! Just to reiterate my saiga has had 0 problems since I bought it and shot it stock no FTE/FTF nothing even with Low brass federal and winchester universal. I'm hoping now that I've converted it that nothing will change. Knock on wood and let's hope for the best!
Brian76 11
Mine would shoot everything before the conversion but after I had trouble with the low brass bulk. I polished the rails, bolt and reprofiled the hammer, now I'm back to cycling the low brass. Don't be surprised if you have to do a little work to get it firing low brass again. crankywanker 7
I'm considering that that might happen.
evlblkwpnz 3,418
Use a MD-20 with Winchster Universal. Bring some Federal Multi-purpose, a factory mag, and that SGM 12 rounder as well. You should be able to get a pretty good idea of where the weapon is.
gunfun 3,931
Your plain Jane is a supermodel when people bring out their pump guns. I think a lot of they toys here are cluttered up with heavy parts that don't feel good in the hands. I like the OEM grip.
Guns Are Great 140
I know some people won't or don't understand, but there is alot to be said for simple beauty and functionality. Whether its women, guns, or otherwise! Even your pup couldn't take its eyes off it! Edited March 28, 2012 by Guns Are Great

The_Caged_Bird 474
I agree, if I could find a handguard like the Russian that is made in USA, I'd switch in a heartbeat...

All of the ammo cycled fine shoulder fire but bumpfiring gave me FTEs and a weird issue with the hammer going forward and having a live round in the chamber and yet not ever striking the primer?! I'm confused by it. But only during bumpfire/hipfire. Shoulder fire the gun is a dream! I do need to clean it though after I haven't cleaned it in 400 rounds. gunfun 3,931
400 seems a bit soon to gunk up. Do you have really big ports? Federal bulk runs great, but it is noticeably dirtier. Edited March 30, 2012 by GunFun
crankywanker 7
The ports look appropriately sized to be honest. I probably should go with glass bolt and then re-test it. That's 400 rounds of federal bulk btw

Shankspony 40
Sounds like you don't have enough "back-pressure." Think about what's happening with the firing mechanisms. If the gun is allowed to "slide" then the carrier isn't going to have the inertia to cycle properly. If bumpfiring/hipfiring is your choice, make sure there as little friction as possible, and that you are stable as possible. I'm not well versed enough to suggest alterations in gas handling.
