fritzthemoose 3
Does anyone know how many pounds the factory recoils springs have? Info for both springs would be great Thx a lot
Bullsquid 2
I have been trying to figure this out for sometime myself. Anyone have any idea? I am thinking about installing a 1911 16LB or an 18LB spring and seeing what results if any occur.
The_Caged_Bird 474
I've ran a Wolff 18lb 1911 spring on the front with no change in recoil or cycling. That's about all the info I can offer up here. I CAN say that Wolff offers spring kits with varying strengths for tuning 1911s, maybe one could order than and experiment? I'm happy with my cycling so unless I get really bored, I really don't see me doing any experimentation...
rnemhrd 165
I have a 18.5 and 20lb progressive from wollf and use the 20 lb.Low brass will eject fine on setting 5 of the v plug and high brass ejects on setting 1. shoulder or hip.On setting 1 low brass will kick the bolt 3/4 of the way back. I just keep it on setting 5 when the gun is home so it will fire anything. I should get an auto plug. It's hardly taking the paint of the rear trunion so I know it gets there just not killing it. Shells are aroung 4' or so away. Edited April 5, 2012 by rnemhrd
fritzthemoose 3
the reccomendation here in my part of the world, with regards to IPSC and low weight sporting rounds, is a 1911 spring, as front spring, with something between 10 and 14 pounds However that still does not tell me how strong the original is
