Boba Debt 350
I haven't been paying much attention to these new AK style Saigas but I wanted to get 2 of them and turn them into under folders. But before I even think about doing this I have a few questions. Has anyone converted one on these? If so, is the conversion process pretty much the same? I know it has 24mm threads under the welded thread protector, but does anyone know if it has standard threads under the front sight base What stye of bullet guide does it take? Now, for the most mportant question Who has the best price on them? Thanks
Polak 10
I just converted one. Conversion is the same... I don't know about threads under the sight... Bullet guides are different shapes. Some are flat, some are round.
Red Star 38
i converted one in 5.45 same process as the videos on carolina shooter supply website
wnagy 0
do the saiga 332 have mag dimples?
Clay 8
according to atlantic, some have dimples, and some dont. I did 'the math' on the cost of converting one of these vs. converting a 'regular' saiga into a 100 series AK. The cost was within $10 to build an SGL clone.
wnagy 0
what are the prices of slg you looked at? i honestly would take the plastic off and put wood on it and i like because it come with threaded barrel and hand guard retainer already. is it worth getting the 332 or just get the
Clay 8
no, your reading my post wrong. I compared the price of a regular style saiga converstion vs. the new 332 converstion, both to be like an SGL. That cost for the conversion parts, no labor, was within $10. I did this 2 weeks ago for a friend, and here is the breakdown: SGL from Atlantic Firearms: $805 w/ free shipping (transfer not included) standard Saiga conversion: $691 (transfer not included) 332 Saiga conversion: $684 (transfer not included) so your within $100 of just buying the SGL. That is why I went with the SGL too. I got mine through Bud's for $795 (cash price) with free shipping. I converted my 12 and my .410. If I could have gotten the same quality of the sgl2161 in a shotgun for the same price range, I wouldn't have done the conversion. You also have to watch the "professional conversions" out there that just put plugs the holes where the old triggerroup was. If I'm paying for a conversion done by a "pro" they had better weld the holes shut and refinish it.
Shankspony 40
But before I even think about doing this I have a few questions. Has anyone converted one on these? Now, for the most mportant question Who has the best price on them? Thanks I converted mine. It's the same process as the IZ-132 or any other outside of removing the GB and FSB (which is a moot point). There doesn't seem to be room for 14mm threads under the FSB as it's flush with exterior of bbl. There are about 4-6 retailers I know of with the same price on the IZ-332. Google is your buddy. Mine took a flat BG. I'm sure they vary. Edited April 17, 2012 by Shankspony
Clay 8
the 332 has a 100 series FSB that has a cap over the threads, then tacked in place. All you have to do is remove the tack welds and you have the standard 24mm threads. Edited April 17, 2012 by Clay
Boba Debt 350
I received my rifles, the AK front end adds more then enough value to the gun to warrent the additional cost. I just ordered enough parts to convert both to Warsaw type AKs. I'm still wondering if thery are threaded under the FSB. I would rather use 14mmLH threaded comps on them. Clay 8
why would you prefer the slant brake? the 74 style brake is way more effective.
Boba Debt 350
I don;t prefer the slnk brake. There are more comps available in the 14mmLH thread
Clay 8
ahhh thats a good point. I never thought about that!

saltydecimator 482
hey heres your answer!! you started the thread 6 years ago... bam boom!!
saltydecimator 482
doesnt appear they appreciated much... lack of marketing/public knowledge plus high prices = lower resale value...
