SKSphreak 0
I have a 7.62x39 I converted, removed the front sight and threaded the barrel 14x1lh. I want to hide the galling and divets with a sleeve. Anyone know where I can get some kind of friction fit sleeve? Edited April 27, 2012 by SKSphreak

SKSphreak 0
Not to be a dick, but WTF does a $286 carbon-sleeved 10/22 barrel have to do with a Saiga? NOTHING!! Volquartsen does not offer anything for my project, and even if they did it would be too expensive for me. I was thinking a 2-3inch piece of pipe (steel or aluminum). I want something that will fit with a minimum of elbow grease (like reaming). Edited April 27, 2012 by SKSphreak

markdavidson 28
I understand what your looking to do. You may want to look at mcmaster carr (mcmaster.com) and look at the DOM (drawn over madrel) steel tube. I don't know if you'll find anything suitable as for ID goes but that's the first thing that popped into my head
SKSphreak 0
Thanks! Cool website. Looks like their 5/8" is the best option so far.
finishman2000 2
i removed my fsb as well. i'm going to use a krebs gas block sight combo. i just jb weled the holes and scratches and sanded smooth. i'll be painting the whole gun anyway so it was th easiest way to go. Mullet Man 2,114
You could cut the barrel back (following legalities of course), recrown, install FSB farther back, rethread the barrel and permanently attach a muzzle device to achieve a legal barrel length. Edit; if you're using a gas block sight block combo, it would be almost ideal to do it that way. Edited April 30, 2012 by Mullet Man
1liter 20
Agreed with Mullet
markdavidson 28
that's what I did as well... except I didn't re-install the FSB

I can't legally cut the barrel here in MI so I was looking at covering it as well.
