shootsmuch 9
Seems Tapco will no longer be making the Galil style handguard...
DrThunder88 912
The OD versions were on closeout when I got one for my Norinco Hunter conversion. What with the goofy retainer and the lack of heat shielding, the price seemed a little high when they were regular price. Then I had to add a beer can for a heat shield--which meant losing the 10 cent deposit--and the set screws I added to the retainer were another 30 cents. The costs added up! Bigtwin 219
While I liked the look of them, seems to me every review of them was very poor! Poor fit, poor screw alignment ect!
Agent Lemon 157
I have one. They are complete shit. It is so overly huge. It might look okay from the sides, but when you hold the rifle it just feels oversized and there are large amounts of light coming through it and... ugh. SHITTY retainer, gets loose when you shoot it, doesn't feel like an AK, its TAPCO, etc too many reasons not to like it.
thehun 20
I have a black one with a RVG mounted on it...have not came loose yet on me...even had a bi-pod mounted to it
TheDarkHorse 216
I had a black one on an old WASR that I traded. I liked it a lot. Then I had one on my old Draco until I settled on a Choate set. Never a problem with mine or any other Tapco product I've owned...
Agent Lemon 157
Yes, you could probably add some loctite or some shit to make it stay. But after getting the gun hot with 300-400 rounds at the range, mag after mag, it always got loose on me, with about 2-4 cm of play back and forth. Pisses me straight the fuck off. Loctite gives in after its heated up anyway. For what its worth, Dinzags handguard retainer stayed on there tight with no movement whatsoever after 2 range trips with about 800-1000 rounds put through it. No loctite or silly shit either.
