WTS/WTT: Marlin 45-70 Lever Action $550 OBO

Recommended Posts

Still Available

Selling my Marlin Lever Action rifle in excellent condition. I got this rifle as part of a lot of guns that I traded for and decided to sell to finance other guns that are more fitting to my interests.

I like the gun but I want to cut down on the variety of ammo types in my arsenal (especially the expensive ones)

I have not fired this gun but it looks like it has been used a little (found small traces of carbon on detailed inspection)

Trade possibilities:

Good .223 bolt rifle (for precision shooting, prefer tactical style, heavy barrel)

12ga. Coach Gun with hammers (like dark, matte colors. will consider hammerless, side by side or over/under)

Open to ideas in 12ga. and .223/5.56 (don't need another AR)

$550 shipped to FFL (my first time shipping a gun but I will want a background check done at least)

Remington/Cerberus aquired Marlin a couple of years ago and the quality took a big nose dive. The easiest way to tell a pre-Remington is that the newer rifles no longer have the "bullseye" in the buttstock near the sling swivel. The bullseye was originally put there so when you're looking at a bunch of rifles on a gun rack you could easily spot a Marlin ...

I don't know the serial number range to look for ...
