Fun Independence Day Blanks

0. Find a place where NOTHING will burn.

1. Do NOT run these in a gas gun (Your Saiga)

2. ANY EMPTY hull that will fit your gun, ANY primer.

3. Load 150gr 1F (that's ONE F) black powder. (2F will work OK too, just not quite as loud)

4. Top off with a piece of 0000 steel wool over the powder.

5. Crimp If you can't crimp, then cover with an overshot card and use a LITTLE Elmer's to seal, then let dry.

6. Wait until dark.

7. Make SURE you have a way to put out a fire.

8. Shoot. You'll get a HUGE BOOM!,and **FLASH**, and a long comet trail of sparks and flame.

9. Giggle maniacally.

10. Clean the shotgun thoroughly with black powder solvent or Ballistol.

11, and most important. I am not responsible for your stupidity. IF you make these, remember, blanks can KILL. Also, you may start a fire with these.

I assume you don't use "fun load #2" in a full-choked shotgun barrel too? laugh.png

It depends upon the OD of the rocket motor.

Oh, and don't expect the rocket motor to go straight. It goes randomly all over the place.

So...Anartica? If not I've done some wildfire work smile.png

No downtown NYC. They made the whole place out of glass and concrete for a reason. Have fun!

Fun load #3

0. Find a place where NOTHING will burn.

1. Do NOT run these in a gas gun (Your Saiga) The black powder residue will foul the gas system and is VERY difficult to clean out.

2. ANY EMPTY hull that will fit your gun, ANY primer.

3. Load 100gr 1F (that's ONE F) black powder. (2F will work OK too, just not quite as loud)

4. Insert ONE 1/2" fiber wad on top of the powder.

5. Fill the hull up snugly to the crimp line with plain old flour. You'll have to tamp it GENTLY to get it to settle. I use a piece of dowel rod, then add ONE overshot card.

6. Crimp If you can't crimp, then cover with an overshot card and use a LITTLE Elmer's to seal, then let dry.

7. Wait until dark.

7. Make SURE you have a way to put out a fire.

8. Shoot. You'll get a HUGE BOOM!,and **FLASH**, easily double the volume of powder alone, as the flour ignites in FRONT of the barrel in a very nice fuel/air BOOOOM! It's a chest thumper. If there's a breeze, you may not get the BOOOOOM!, but just a big flash, as the wind causes the flour to disperse excessively.

9. Giggle maniacally, repeat as needed.

10. Clean the shotgun thoroughly with black powder solvent or Ballistol.

11. MOST IMPORTANT!!!!! These loads are to be made and used AT YOUR OWN RISK. I assume no responsibility for your or anyone else's stupidity.
