Im looking into buying a Siaga 7.62x39....but I dont think the one I was looking at had a BHO. Unless I overlooked it.

Do all Saiga 7.62x39 rifles come with a BHO?

If not...where can I get one?

Do the Saiga .308 and .223 rifles come with a BHO?

I was under the impression that all the x39s had BHO. But i could be wrong, it happened once. If the one you are looking at does not have BHO, you can get a BHO safety laver from blackjackbuffers.com, or you can modify your existing safety lever by cutting a notch out of it to act as a BHO.

If you would rather not do that, put a WANT TO BUY topic in the for sale forum and see if anyones got one to sell

The BHO is a small metal "nub" that hands down next to the trigger guard. You push upwards while the bolt is back, and then it holds it open.

It can be a PITA to put back in, should the firing control group ever be removed ( for cleaning ) or replaced.

It is often not put back when "converting" to a pistol grip, as it now is next to the trigger. For example, I choose not to put mine back in.

K dawg I think the reason it's by the trigger is so you can actually use it as a BHO by pushing up on it with the side of your trigger finger at any time while firing. If you count your rounds you can hold the bolt back on the last one for an easy mag change. Not really necessary on the rifles but it really helps on the shotties.

So a Saiga 12 BHO wont work on a 7.62x39 Saiga?

On the Saiga 12 the BHO holds the bolt carrier on the rails....does it do this on the 7.62x39? I think I heard someone say it holds the bolt somewhere in the middle of the bolt carrier on the 7.62x39.
