Byzantine 0
So I just bought a used Mossy 500 from a classified. At first I thought it had the normal 18.5" stubby barrel that you see on the home defense models. On closer examination, I found it had threading for a choke, and was considerably heavier than my other 18.5" barrel that came on my Maverick. Any idea what I got? I haven't seen a barrel like this advertised for sale anywhere, and have only found one mention of the barrel in a 2+ year old post about them being on sale at havlinsales. Where did they come from and where did they go?
thebuns1 4,323
got any pics?
thebuns1 4,323
i may be wrong, but i dont believe mossberg ever released an 18.5 security bbl for use with choke tubes. now someone may have had it done as a custom job. but all the 18 and 20" bbls i ever seen have all been cylinder bore. Byzantine 0
Just got home and looked at it. Etched in the left side of the barrel it says, "Chambered for 2 3/4 and 3 in shells. 12 GA. - 18 1/2 in. Accu Choke ®". All in the same type font. I'll work on a pic.
