What barrel length on your Saiga 7.62?

Any particular reason you chose this length?

I have one of the first Saiga's imported in 1994 and that is the only barrel length they were imported with.

Well I think it looks more macho in 16".

I always feel like I'm shooting something "tactical" ; like from a political novel about submarines and such...

 

Oh yeah, and it was one of three that havent' been re-stocked since. I had to call and reserve it.

Short, easy to move around. I just thought it looked cooler. Dodn't think I was going to shoot it far enough for barrel length to matter. Oh yeah, I had to call around to find one in stock and Mine was the last one from mackinaw bridge to midland, MI.(all of northern MI.)

I preffer the 16" folding stock model (U.K SPEC) as i can carry it to the range in a normal sports bag and go shopping with it and it does not concern people as they dont see a gun bag. i think that 16" is fine for this callibre and it shoots well up to 300m with iorn sights so thats fine for me.
