hizzaaa 0
Hey just wondering if anyone had any issues replacing rusted and rough metal AK magazine guts out with Tapco guts (Spring/follower)?
BuffetDestroyer 969
Going from memory, the springs are about 2-4" shorter than the springs in surplus Eastern Bloc mags. I don't believe the floor plates fit on the steel mags. I think the followers will work and it is an easy add for compliance parts if you get these: http://www.mississip...pco-p-1443.html Bottom line, just use the Tapcos as they are unless you are in a ban state or need compliance parts and then just get the rebuild kits or packs of followers. FYI, a big shipment of Egyptian mags is in the process of hitting the market and those would be where I would get the replacement parts/re-build kits. ETA: I have no issues with TAPCO mags as they are tight and consistently reliable in my rifles. Edited September 19, 2012 by BuffetDestroyer
hizzaaa 0
I have never had a tapco magazine fail either in my 20 or so outings to the range with them. When fail I mean the platic tab breaking off or feed lips cracking... but I haven't abused them either.... Only tactical reloads rather than combat or emergency reloads. Thank you for the info and heads up on the Egyptian mags...
