paprotective 362
1st question.. I just got in my 7.62x54R Vepr with wood stock.. It came with factory 5 round mags.. it can not readily take a higher capacity magazine as its not a common round size like most AK variants.. All I want to do is add a brake/comp to it.. Will the addition of a muzzle device trigger 922r if running only the factory mags?? 2nd version of the question.. What if I wanted to order and run a SGM 10 round USA magazine with the above?? Figured I'd ask this early as I know others will be soon as well..
obiwanbonjovi 337
If you add a muzzle brake, and not a flash hider, you will still be exempt from 922r. Same with the magazine, a rifle does not become subject to 922r by adding a larger capacity mag, only by modifying the rifle to accept large capacity military magazines. paprotective 362
Yes a brake/comp.. not a FH.. and I don't know of any 54R mags above 10 rounds at this time.. which would be large capacity I'm guessing.. So if I want to switch just the handguard out to a US made model/type I would be OK as well correct?? I am trying to do this in peace-meal.. front to back.. as paycheck$ allow.. I am guessing that when I get to the back half (aka stock and PG) I will need to order up a Tapco G2 to drop in as well. Edited September 24, 2012 by YWHIC
