rs51085 136
is the vepr 12's that are being offered from Atlantic and others places going to have a thumb safety as shown in the picture? i know that they are going to have the trigger finger extension on the ejection side but i am much more interested in having a thumb safety. the thumb safety seems to be common place outside of the US so i hope that they will be imported with it. So does anyone know for sure. Edited October 6, 2012 by rogers
Vulgotha 0
That's the left side of the firearm. The Vepr 12's should have an ambi safety selector if I remember right, and should be imported with it to the US. The right side of the Vepr has a traditional AK safety with a thumb safety integrated into it. As shown here:

SGM 217
they should have that left side lever.
rs51085 136
Thanks for the replies. I was hoping that they would have it but it was not listed as a feature on any of the sites selling them. I can't wait to get one of these in my hands.
presto_z 125
According to WPA the US versions do not have the left sided safety.. Hopefully it will be fairly easy to retrofit one to it.

draftpick 5
I like the new Molot original AK enhanced safety lever on the vepr 12. Are these safeties the same size as standard AK's? I would like to put one on my 7.62x39 Vepr!
abaddon 4
The left hand Vepr safety is gawd awful anyway the adapted AK one on the right works great though.
mvalentin 3
Would the Vepr-12 safety lever work on a Saiga-12? I'm a lefty and would love to order one somewhere, but have come up short. If it works, I'd like to test it out on my AK74 also. A few weeks ago I spend almost a whole weekend looking for that Vepr safety lever. Nada. Arrrr..
mvalentin 3
Bump in case anyone can help here. 1. Where can I get a Vepr-12 ambi safety lever? Looks like it'll work for a lefty like me, where Krebs lever serve little value because I can't reach the tabs with my left thumb. Thanks everyone!! burtpowder 0
Take a look at the folders classic firearms is selling, they have this left side safety. Part of the reason I went with the folder over the wood stock vepr. Didnt know what other features the left side safety vepr may come with.
Strawdawg 1
There is not much leverage on the thumb safety and mine is not that easy to operate. It has gotten a bit easier to operate with use but you need some muscle in the thumb

Hard to spend $1300 just for a left-hand safety selector though.
Commonsense 0
Didn't know until 1st range time that this will eat a leftys index finger up…it will need to go!
