Doug Hartley 526
Here are some photos of a production R&R bolt carrier with an original Russian made carrier for comparison. The R&R carrier has the right side bolt handle installed but the bolt handle can be installed on the left or right side. Carriers will come with a stock Saiga op rod installed. http://randrtargets.com/site/products-page/saiga-parts/rr-bolt-carrier-us-made/ Doug
rs51085 136
looks great! when you say the handle can be put on either side do you mean that it could be swapped around easily by the end user at a whim, or are you saying that it can be permanently put on either side? garnaz 215
Could you point out where the improvements are? Not being sarcastic just dont have experience to see without help. Would you install heavy duty op rod if sent in with order instead of factory one?

Agent Lemon 157
The website did not say, so I have to ask, does it say U.S. on it anywhere? Perhaps like stamped on there somewhere?

paprotective 362
NICE !!! This ROCKS in my opinion.. it took FOREVER to get any type of replacement internal parts... the fact they are USA made is a bonus. I'm hoping for the bolts with extractors for all the Saigas and all the VEPRs to become available.. <<HINT..

Would you install heavy duty op rod if sent in with order instead of factory one? The original design is very thin in several areas where we have seen cracks. The R&R design beefed up those areas to help prevent cracks. You could have any op rod installed for an extra charge, but if you sent one in we could install it for free. Doug looks great! when you say the handle can be put on either side do you mean that it could be swapped around easily by the end user at a whim, or are you saying that it can be permanently put on either side? The charging handle would not be easily movable from one side to the other. It is possible to have handles on both sides if you wish. Doug

Early units did not have US on the carrier but later units will be engraved with R&R and US. Doug

DLT 1,646
That's a great looking bolt carrier. What about replacement bolts? Any plans to produce any?
Doug Hartley 526
Is is made of steel or aluminum? Weight? The carrier is billet steel, the charging handle is aluminum over a steel stud. I see if I can get a weight, but it is very close to the Original. Doug

Doug Hartley 526
I thought the charging handles were supposed to be screw ins? The left side handle screws onto a stud that is milled into the left side of the carrier. The right side handle inserts into a hole milled in right side of the carrier. The right side, the normal bolt handle location, is an integral part of the bolt carrier and is threaded on the outside to accept the aluminum bolt handle. The left side of the bolt carrier has a hole milled in it to install the bolt handle.

Doug Hartley 526
Yes the bolt handles will match. I'll see if I can get Robert to make up one with 2 bolt handles and get some photos to post. Doug

Your version of bolt carrier is differ from Original with Bolt Carrier Rear Lug that has radius on Saiga as well on AK, and doesn't have on R&R (detail #11 on the pic 5 on the AK patent). Why you don't use radius on R&R bolt carrier? Edited January 1, 2013 by PapaZorro
