Is the tide turning on the "evil black rifle" stigma?

Does "modern sporting rifle" sound better than "assault rifle?" To ignorant people, i'm sure it sounds better, but i'm also pretty sure that the S&W modern sporting rifles that attributed to increased sales were probsbly M&P's. Its nice to see guns not being openly villified.

Amazing how labels change perception. If you give something a cute, fun name and people will eat it up.

Seeing how the AR platform is the most common center fired rifle in the US I would say the "Evil Black Rifle" has found a place in the hearts and safes of most red blooded Americans
