hochst04 7
i just did a conversion using tapco g2. thats was in a kit on css. my concern is the safety i can push it up in to the safe direction. it will catch on the dust cover but i can make it go up all the way to the point that it causes the.trigger to engage. i did not cut or modify the safety in any ways. my question is that normal? if you guys take your dust cover off and lift ur safety up will it just stop or keep going up till the trigger engages? thanks for help please put me on right track. JoeAK 337
From what I've read add experienced, that's normal, I fixed it by bending part of the dust cover inwards a little.

mike12345 18
your safety should go under the top cover not over it. you probably should have bent it out a little not in. heres a photo Yes the safety can keep rotating upward without the top cover. The top cover stops it. Edited October 31, 2012 by mike123456
corbin 621
I see you posted this thread twice. I answered in the other one, but it looks like this one got more responses. Can you make your safety go up past the dust cover, while the cover is installed? If so, it shouldn't be that loose. With the cover off, that's how you remove the safety. It's normal. gunfun 3,931
If it really bothers you, a pre-travel spacer under the back of the trigger, and a carefully filed step on the trigger leg where the safety engages can give you a defined end point in safety movement. I also like to use a punch and drill bit to give 3 detents for the safety to click on: One in the fire position. One at the top in the safe position, and one in between in a position where the trigger cannot move, but you can cycle the bolt if the hammer is already set. Just mark the points where the divot sits in the safety scratch at each point, punch it, and use a drill bit to deepen and smooth the punch mark. Then you will have a nice click on safe, fire, and safe cycle.

The top cover stops it. That's what my rifle is like, but on the shotgun there doesn't seem to be anything to stop it and it rides way up under the dust cover. Bending the cover pretty much fixed it.
