Saiga 12 is DONE! Must see!!!

Recommended Posts

Ive received confirmation from Troy today that my S12 040-05 is finally done. Didnt take a whole year either. Here is the initial thread: http://forum.saiga-1...-040-05-legion/

Cost me about $425 and took 7 months as quoted. Very happy.

I really can't believe how good this turned out. I dont even have it in my hands yet and I know its going to be GRAVY. The builder was kind enough to take pics of its progress and I wanted to share with everyone. Pretty cool pics if I do say so myself. Coming from a wannabe smith mind you. Some of you guys are lucky enough to work on these for a living. Im just stuck going ooooh and aaahhhh, drooling over it:

Here we go:

And the final product, try not to get any drool on your keyboards.

Huge thanks to Troy @ InRange and the Saiga12.com forum. This build has been a dream of mine since I joined.

I am glad this one went well for you. Much better work on the retrofit. I like it.

Looks good!

Thank you Gentlemen! I happy with how everything went aswell. Actually expected to pay $675+ from previous experiences but was excellently surprised with $250 Less+free return shipping!!!!! Shits unheard of in my book. Good way to earn my business.

Thanks buddy!

I should add I sent my address for Tory to ship me your Saiga for testing.

Be sure to pay Tory for it, and do you have a few 1000 rounds of ammo to test with?haha.gif

Best looking one of that model that I have seen. Congrats!

Thanks Brother! Its been a long long time coming. Never thought id have anything more than the standard S12, which, dont get me wrong is AWESOME enough in its own right, but these models being imported really kicked it up a notch IMO. Glad the Vepr12s are here aswell. I look forward to the AK12-12's coming in.

haha.gif thank you sir.

Looks very-very good! Have nothing to add.

I know, it's not a Vepr biggrin.png Is it the right model? 040-05? I have a wood set for it, does that change the model at all? just out of curiosity?

IMHO , nothing to add, even wood set. She (Saiga) is 110% ready :)

Exactly. After two years of dealing with vodka specials it is really nice to see better QC in the S12 and a variety of other imports in the 030, 040s, and V12. If the AK12s come in, I'll have to have one. So many guns, so little money. Lol.

Btw, did you happen to look at shortening the barrel at all? I'm not sure if/how the front sight can be moved as it looks to be pressed on (no pins). I'm guessing you would have to cut the barrel, remove the portion of the barre from inside the front sight and then repress or solder it back on to the shortened barrel.

No on this one. Not sure what to do with this one yet. Probably just enjoy the shit out of it for now. Its had its turn for upgrades. Also, still trying to sort out what Im going to do with my 1st S12. Was going to go 8" but changed my mind and want to stay around 12.5-13.5". Might hit up tac47 or Sierra Ordnance Company.......not sure yet.

Was waiting to see what was gonna happen with elections but the original plan fell through so I have to figure something else out.

As for the front sight, its attached with a screw. easily removable.

Great looking shotgun!

Thanks man. Really happy with how it turned out.

Some info on it:

I had Troy

-weld up and refinish all the unused holes

-weld on akbuilder trigger guard and re enforcement plate

-install 100 series stock/SVDS stock

-and refinish

-Also asked that the forearm ring be tightened up as its coming loose after firing. Not sure how that will be yet. Kindof a test and go situation.

-He said to send it back if its not resolved which is fine.
