billdozer 6
Girlfriend picked this up for me as a gift. Had a blast shooting it. The mods have already begun. I attached my chinese Aimpoint clone and picked up a couple of Ruger 25 round mags. Im thinking about a bullpup but Red Jacket wont respond to my emails and high tower armory will probably never be in stock. Any ideas on bullpups and trigger modifications? I want to lighten her up a little. I dont want to spend 100+ on trigger mods for a gun that cost 200. red jacket... http://www.redjacket...emart&Itemid=19 high tower.. https://www.hightowe...Code=HTA9022BLK I really dont want to do this but its an option.. akastormi 617
I don't see how adding that much plastic to look like a p90 can lighten it up. I never truely cared for that look either, but that's an opinion. If I was to bullpup a 10/22 I'd hunt down a Dixie Consolidated kit.
billdozer 6
Sorry I wasn't very specific with that. I was referring to having a lighter trigger pull. Supposedly an aftermarket hammer will achieve 2.5 to 3 pounds of pull. Is this correct?
patriot 7,197
A decent target hammer and adjustable trigger are all you need. A bolt release is nice to have too. Edited November 18, 2012 by patriot
RED333 1,025
10/22s are a lot fun to shoot, LOTS of mods that can be done. A bunch of stocks, barrells, triggers and such. We have 2, we shoot 22 more than anything else.
billdozer 6
Are these things easy to dissect? A few videos made it seem simple but were not very detailed. Saiga conversions were easy for me going off the videos. I just dont like the sound of shims included. Patriot is that all you recommend swapping out? Maybe polishing some contact points also. Thanks for the help.
patriot 7,197
A hammer and trigger/sear is all you need. Power Custom makes some nice parts. My 10/22s shoot great. One is a match grade SS laminated factory gun, the other is a plain jane cheapo used gun. I put a decent trigger and hammer in it and it shoots almost as good as the match gun. $52.99 Minimum Parts needed: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/181454/power-custom-hammer-and-sear-ruger-10-22 $109.00 Competition rifle trigger kit: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/168643/power-custom-competition-rifle-trigger-kit-ruger-10-22-hammer-sear-trigger-buffer-shims-springs Oh, and leave the Dremel alone. Not necessary. Either of these will give you a GREAT trigger. Edited November 18, 2012 by patriot

Thanks for the help. Now we dont get out and target shoot, just plink, mine are good for a min of squirrel and that is all we need. One screw and the stock and receiver come apart, two allen screws and the barrel comes off the receiver. Two pins and the trigger group comes out of the receiver. I have not done any trigger mods, yet, been thinking an building one, I have a spair barrel.
billdozer 6
Dremel? Are you referring to the fitting of the sear to the safety? Thanks for the help. I will be ordering that kit with the Volquartsen bolt hold release.
TigerMoses 31
The Archangel kits that's makes it into a G36 lookalike was my favorite mod of my 5 Rugers
gunfun 3,931
+1 on power custom. Mine is about as good as I think can be gotten out of a 10/22. Volquartzen is for suckers. I believe they are now the same company as RSA. you can buy direct.
