Armand Willis 4
I found this video showing how to disassemble the MKA without damaging the feed ramp portion of the lower. No hammers required. Hope it's of help, Thanx.

xflowinA3 12
Ill be the first to admit I broke my feed ramp EXACTLY how Jim describes.... Had to send the receiver Monday. But good news is the aluminum feed ramp fixes many feeding issues with the 10 rnd mags.

xflowinA3 12
If you make the unfortunate mistake of cracking the feed ramp, there is a company that can replace it with a stronger aluminum one that won't crack and also supposedly smooths the feeding transition which fixes most feeding issues. I don't think I can link the site, but I bet you can find it if you search "mka aluminum feed ramp". Or contact gentleman Jim on this site.
BD Williamson 0
Sent mine in to Jim and had the aluminum feed ramp installed and the unit returned to me in less than a week. Cant beat the customer service from Firebird!

ec4321 113
How much did this cost, if you don't mind me asking?
james lambert 3,059
How much did this cost, if you don't mind me asking? The ARR ramp replacement is $150.00 it could have been less, but we had to patent the part and process. Jim
KIRCH76 12
Jim is that a part we can buy ourselves and do or do we have to send the lower in?? If we send the lower on does it have to be shipped back to an ffl or can it ship back directly to me??
james lambert 3,059
We CNC machine the lower to accept the part, its not really a diy job. The lower can be shipped directly to us, then directly back to you. Jim
