Here is how it arrived:

Drooled on it for several hours. Very solid Gun. Yes, it weighs more than my Saiga, but it is a fluted bull barrel, and the reinforced trunnion so I can live with it. I prefer slightly heavy guns for keeping on target. Light guns tend to float too much for me.

Then came 922r mods.

I went with a bullet guide. To use 30 rnd magazines. I'm using Bulgy Circle 10 mags.

Tapco G2 trigger assembly. No photos, but is a simple 5 minute swap. No grinding or mods to the rifle or trigger assembly needed. The G2 is a step up from the factory trigger, and has a nice clean break in the pull.

Rhineland Vepr Stocks. The stocks come in unfinished, and need minor smoothing before stain and sealer. I also decided to cut angles on the top of the front and rear. The front was cut to match the profile of the gas tube, and the rear was to allow access to the gas tube lever release. I went with Minwax stain "gunstock". I know real original, but I already had it on hand and like the color since I have used it to refinish a couple of other stocks. Then I went with tung oil for the sealer since it can be touched up as needed to make the stock look new again. Between coats of tung oil I rubbed it down with 4x steel wool to smooth it out as I went.

I'm really happy with the end result. Now I just need to decide on a scope.

That thing looks dead sexy with that clear mag! You did good bro! That is one awsome looking rifle! I like the stain choice as well.

That would look pretty sick Liberty. I was thinking of something similar for my 5.45, but it wont look as good as the barrel is only 16". I feel that the 20" combined with your stock choice makes it look that much better.

Hows the LOP on that stock anyways?

Did you have to modify mag or mag well or mag catch lever in any way to function, or simply just the bullet guide addition?

The transparent mag looks really sweet! Good job. I'm holding out for Iron Woods SVD style furniture, already have Rhineland's on a Saiga.

No mods to the mag or mag well, just added the bullet guide. You do have to file the mag catch about 2.5mm to allow the mag to seat properly. Takes about 10-15 min with a jewelers file. Might go faster with a dremel, but I was afraid of removing too much metal so I did mine with the file. The iron wood prototype looks sweet.
