Minkman 24
Hey guys ... I think I have a guy who can locally thread my barrel (side note: thanks to evlblack for offering to lend me some tools and do his method that has been stickied -- I just don't have faith in my handy skills to comfortably do it ;(. )... I'm wondering if this would be a good option ? http://www.k-var.com/shop/AK-141B.html
Jaba1017 71
No. A threaded .223 Saiga barrel needs a 14lh threaded brake.
Nailbomb 10,221
You would need to change your front sight to use that brake. That said you can just as easily have your barrel threaded for ar brakes. 14x1 lh isn't the only thing you can thread for.
Minkman 24
Thanks for the reply ... I have a gunsmith who will be threading my barrel and he said the same lol. Which brake does the SGL .223 use ? Since I've replaced almost everything with arsenal parts I figure I'd get the arsenal brake
Minkman 24
I just saw this on Carolina shooters supply ... Did a search on here and came up with nothing ... Anyone have input ? http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-1645/Guntec-Muzzle-Brake-bolt/Detail
mancat 2,368
Man, just thread your muzzle or put on a 24mm threaded FSB. Don't waste your time with bolt-ons.
Nailbomb 10,221
I personally agree with mancat on this one. But don't let us tell you how it should be done, show us how you think it should be done.
IndyArms 10,186
Thread the muzzle for 14X1 LH and get the adapter that allows you to thread on the 24MM brake. BEST OF BOTH WORLDS !!
mancat 2,368
Yes you can certainly do that. Frankly I've wondered quite a lot why someone doesn't make a press-on and pinnable 24mm threaded sleeve for the original Saiga FSB. There seems to be more than enough material on the FSB to do it.
