Spetnaz Soldier 47 Posted December 2, 2012 Report Share Posted December 2, 2012 Hey guys I was looking at one of the nice Chaos quad rails for the saiga 7.62x39. I was wondering, there are 2 set screws on the bottom handgaurd that screw up to the barrel to make it solid. I am wondering if that would affect anything on the barrel? If you are talking about these screws affecting barrel vibration, degrading accuracy, it will be a non issue. If you think about it, you already have three other steel attatchments to the barrel (hg retainer, gas block, sight block), so the resonance is wrecked from the bat with any ak. Its not really meant to be target rifle. If you are talking about stress on the barrel, dont worry about it. I never used my set screws, I found mine was tight enough with only the hg retainer and screw through the receiver. Once it was on there, it didnt go anywhere, regardless of set screws.
