The shop was PACKED with people trying to buy up ARs, especially Bushmasters. One guy was having a hissy fit cause he had to settle on a Colt 6920 instead of a Bushmaster. What a dumbass. They were even having trouble calling in checks and backed up 3 or 4 deep. Today must be national buy a gun day or something. I only had one rifle up until today, a Colt 6920 Socom. Its just a regular 6920 except it comes with a 16 inch socom heavy barrel, ambi safety, Knights Armament RAS quad rail with KA handquards, matech flip up rear sight, a M4a1 rollmark and comes with 2 30 round mags. Its a sweet AR, Ive got it sighted in at 50/200 yards. Only 5000 were made and kinda hard to get. They also make A Colt 6920 Socom II, which is the same thing except it has the Daniel Defence free float ris II rail. Only 1000 were made and thats what I wanted but they are hard to find and around $1700-$1900 so I decided to settle on a bone stock 6920. So I walk in and people are everywhere and the counter guy had a big ass smile on his face cause hes sold more today than all last week. And then I see it. Another Colt socom. I asked to see it just to make sure its what I thought it was. He ordered one some months ago and it just happened to come in last week. I said "I'll take it"! I also picked up another 10 pmags while I was at it. So now I have 2 of the same exact ARs. I plan to make one a "CQB" carbine and stick a good ol fasion Aimpoint compM2 4 moa ,a KAC vertical grip and light on it and an Acog on the other as a sort of mid range carbine, but that will have to wait 6 months cause Im broke. But a guy came into my local shop and did buy 7 AR's yesterday and then came back and picked up a PS90. lol. The guys' behind the counter were flustered trying to keep up with shit today. Not much wiggle room in the store. I've never seen the shelves so bare in that store since he got his FFL. I wish I could have picked up that Vepr x54 today. I hate it when I'm right some times. +1..I was hoping for the best in the election...but a week before I picked up another S12 and since I was there figured I needed a M70 yugo under folder too. I have to admit it was partly a "panic buy" but I was in denial, my excuse was I wanted it anyways. Ive been having to play catch up with all these new gun purchases lately. The thing I need most at the moment is mags and ammo. I dont need another caliber right now. After gettting rid of all my 7.62x39 rifle mags and ammo a while back, I know have to buy all that shit all over again now with that Saiga I picked up saturday. I had my eye on these for a few months, but had been waiting for my tax return. I guess I'll carry a balance on the credit card for a month or two for the first time ever. I felt the same way before I dove in ARs, but after using Colts for awhile I dont worry about it any longer as they are one of the best, most reliable made DI guns and actually properly stake the gas key. I trust them. And they are just as tough as an AK! Lol yeah right I know better but I guess I made my bed and now Ill have to lay in it. Im glad I got my Vepr-12 too. I wish I had more money to spend on other things Id really like to have before this gets any worse, but I just cant. Dont make enough my job is slow enough as it is. Pretty pair though, just keep'em real clean. From the sounds of it, the banns may be in the form of not being able to transfer, so choose your side in the AK vs AR debate guys. We may have to stick with our choices for a while if we're not of unlimited funds. I panic-bought more Polish steel AK mags when legislation started being pushed in Oregon last week after the mall blowjob and a bit'a 9mm today on a hunch... Apparently right in time, because Ammo to go's cheapest hollow point is 8 cents a round more than what I bought now & the brand new polish steel mags are going up in price too.. Thought about another 75 round drum from Apex, but I swear the damn thing's going up in price like $5.00 an hour.The last one I bought was $75.00, now they're $160.00 Earlier today they were $120.00 They're really more of a novelty anyhow. Fuckin' heavy, awkward, and they light your handguard on fire if you dump'em too fast. Whadayado... Hell, if they make all new AK's sold have to be straight-pulls, I guess I'll have a hell of a custom charging handle market to fulfill for the new guys. What ya think NIW P mags get in a week? I got 60 I'm gonna sell and keep the majority of the rest. I was buying them for 7.99 for a lot 12 pcs. Same with UZI mags got them for 5.90 each a box of 50. just had to buy 3 boxes over a year. And forget about those FN/FAL mags for 2.99 each you don't even want to know how many I bought in the lot of 100 Pcs. Won't mention those aluminum G3 date coded mags for 1.99 for 200 mags or the suomi mags and drums 9.99 and 13.99. Yupper gonna make a freak'n killing on this shit. last time I dumped stuff I bought a house cash in 6 months. This time I think I'm going for like 10 acres of property cash. I lost my job last April and sold almost everything I had including my Scar 17 plus Elcan and 2k of 308, Saiga 12, Remmy 700, Sig P226 and my Arsenal AK. I was left with a Remmy 870p and a couple Glocks, one for the house and one for CCW. Then I moved out of state with my GF and pretty much had to start over. Im making a slight comeback though. I still have my Glocks and a couple nice ARs and lots of ammo and mags so it aint so bad. The Scar was really nice, but Im kind of glad its gone. It was expensive to feed and mags and parts were so damn hard to find if you even could. If I could go back and do it all over I would have never bought it Quote Link to post Share on other sites
