A free country deserves a free market

Recommended Posts

It's getting really old hearing all the whining and complaining about the current prices. There IS a point where I value the money my guns can bring more than the gun itself. When the market gets to that point, I will sell....not everything, but almost.

You shouldn't sell that! Your prices are too high! That's not fair! All a bunch of socialist/communist BS. There are companies that are NOT taking advantage of the current inflated prices. They are not doing so because they are your friend or are considering your feelings. They are banking on the fact that any new legislation won't affect their business and they are looking to have an edge over other businesses in the future. A good thing in and of itself, but it is nothing more than a business strategy.

There are a ton of ads on texasguntrader telling people not to sell and calling others out for selling for what they deem unreasonable prices. Someone posted an ad who finally got it right.

To anyone that doesn’t like the prices items are currently listed at:

Thank you for being such a good steward of what other peoples items are worth in an open market. Everyone knows there will be legislation released very soon, and that it will not be favorable for the arms enthusiast. What we are seeing is capitalism, plain and simple. If one wants to sell an item, and another wants to buy it for that price, why are you upset?

Perhaps socialism has crept in here. You do not want to pay that price, so you complain. Yet someone that will pay that price is an idiot, as are those selling it. It seems that you may want to force your will on others. Or perhaps you think someone else should set the price for what you own.

Supply and demand has always been viewed with peaks and valleys. With demand high and supply low, prices go up. If the supply is high and the market is low, they go down.

Almost every shop in America is sold out of high capacity magazines. Many stores are out of AR's, AK's and many pistols that utilize high capacity mags. Even tactical shotguns are now in short supply.

Are the prices worth it? Maybe not, but again it is not for anyone to portray them as unreasonable so long as the buyer does not think they are. And if no buyer thinks it is given the current situation the seller will be penalized by not having a sale. And perhaps those that buy should have bought earlier.

Remember the Clinton ban, brought about by then Senator Biden? Well, he will author this one as well. And I doubt that there will be any sunset provision in it this time.

So to those that complain, I send a challenge. Stand up for what you say and go ahead and list YOUR items at the previous "reasonable" prices. Certainly you can practice what you preach. So here we are, all waiting for you to list your possessions so that you can show us how we should all be.

end of soapbox

I couldn't agree with you more, but will say I believe there is a feeding frenzy going on.

I have said it a time or two already on the forum but believe it bears repeating. "Guys, step back and take a breath!"

AMEN BRUTHA!

I would hit Like a hundred times if it would let me.

If you had no foresight and didn't buy what you want or need when supply was high and prices low then too bad for you. Retailers and private owners didn't buy guns/mags/ammo just to hold them for YOU in case things got bad so YOU could have them at a "fair" price.

This reminds me of the morons who live on the coast and don't have plywood, generators, batteries, etc. So a hurricane is coming tomorrow and NOW you're trying to buy everything? "Life's tough. It's tougher if you're stupid."

A frenzy for sure, and don't get me wrong. I don't have dollar signs in my eyes. I am focused on the real fight here, but I'm trying to keep it in perspective too. The frenzy is being fed by people who fear losing their 2nd ammendment rights. They are feeling somewhat powerless in the face of token petitions, an impotent NRA, and a possible EO. They are voicing their concerns in the only way some of us know in this country.....consumerism.

I wonder how much, if any, effect this frenzy is having on the powers that be and what they are planning. They are watching afterall.

So your solution to whiners and complainers is whining and complaining?

So many of your posts are failed attempts at clever 'one-liners'.

Please refer to your avatar and try to offer something a little more insightful in the future.

Thank you and have a nice day.smile.png

Consider the source Chevy,it's coming from someone who posted a Saiga 223 for $1200 on TGT.

Originally listed the rifle $500, conversion parts at $325, add KVAR furniture $125, mags $150, & labor ??? Need money for Christmas...$1200 FIRM. Then stated This is not a safe queen. Some wear and dings from use...never refinished after converting. Receiver holes were not welded up in conversion. About 800 rounds through it.

Oh well.....at least he dropped the price down to $1,000 today.haha.gif
