JoeKan 0
What/who makes a good one for a 308? Thanks, Joe
ChileRelleno 7,071
Just the stock or the stock and tube? Just the collapsible or do you want it to fold too? I really like the VLTOR and CAA AK adapter tubes with either VLTOR EMod or MagPul stocks. I've just received a MagPul STR stock today and really like it. Here is a comparison of two of the better aluminum tubes that don't require modification of the receiver's tang. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/70745-reviewcomparison-of-vltor-caa-m4-style-collapsible-stocktube-adapters-for-aks/ If I was doing a Designated Marksman style rifle, with an 18-20" barrel, I'd go with a MagPul UBR. You'd need an internal receiver block, Pignose adapter and standard AR rifle extension tube, to install that one. Edited December 29, 2012 by ChileRelleno
JoeKan 0
Thanks for the reply. Just looking for one the collaspes. I've already done my conversion and I used a nato stock, but it's too short when I have my scope on it. Need something longer.
ChileRelleno 7,071
Either of those AK adapter tubes are great, as are the respective stocks. Some folks here like to use recoil absorbing stocks such as this, http://www.nokick.com/AK_47_Collapsible_Stock_Kit_w_Shock_Absorber_p/mako%20sbt-k47fk.htm

JoeKan 0
way to expensive. What about one from our vendors? Which would be a good one? The only one I've seen in stock is from saiga. Are they any good? Thanks, JK
Exothermia 1
It costs what it costs. Tapco makes a cheap plastic unit that will fit, but it is complete garbage. http://www.amazon.com/Tapco-AK-T6-Collapsible-Stock/dp/B002AQHLTK I have the CAA aluminum tube and a Magpul MOE stock on my 308 and it fits well and locks up pretty nicely. CAA does make a cheaper polymer tube that, if combined with a decent stock, would get you where you want at less money, but I can't speak to the quality of it. http://www.primaryarms.com/Command_Arms_AK47_6Position_Polymer_Tube_fo_p/aktsp.htm
ChileRelleno 7,071
Strange, I've used multiple Tapco products, including the T6, with good results. While not top notch gear, it served me very well on my S12 for thousands of rounds. Little stock rattle, but not noticeable while shooting. Oh yeah, welcome to S12.com. JoeKan 0
What about this one? Will it work for a converted Saiga? Thanks, JK. http://www.ebay.com/itm/261108830994?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
JoeKan 0
Never mind, I read this guy's reviews and it sucks. I'm not buying from him.
