Rolex John 2
I've gone through two not innexpensive VFG's on my Saiga 12 - both polymer. Both sheered at the mounting bracket. Does anyone make a metal/aluminum bracket on the VFG that can better withstand 12ga recoil?
lbsrdi 1,078
Mind sharing which ones failed? I have been using a S.O.G. grip and it has held up really well for several thousand rounds. There are several metal VFGs, I have one but don't remember what brand. I'll look when I get home.
hammondd2000 3
I use a utg 5 position grip w/ slide fire .. haven't had any issues
thebuns1 4,323
Look into a Troy Industries VFG. It can be made a full length grip or a stubby if you wish, and has great texture, is aluminum, and sealed with an O-ring to keep the compartment dry inside. Very good grip IMO.
Zombiehunter762 376
Try Troy Stubby or regular. The Troy is aluminum/metal and pretty strong, that's what I use.

Sdustin 578
Tango down. You can get it with an arms throw lever.
longfletch27 6
I like the looks of magpul, I havent heard any bad things about them.
JoeAK 337
The UTG "deluxe ergonomic" grip has worked well for me, I haven't used it on a real gun (none of mine have rails on the bottom), but I've used it in airsoft, which is more abusive than I've ever been on the real ones, so it oughta do. Feels solid, comfortable, and is well made. Edited January 1, 2013 by JoeAK

TexanShooter 8
Have a larue quick detach grip, comes with three plugs for grip extensions i.e. sort of mini, full size grip, or a flanged full size grip. Has withstood a good amount of abuse. A little pricey though. And the bracket is metal. Edited January 2, 2013 by TexanShooter
6500rpm 670
Botach Tactical KZ or KZ Stubby is a huge bang for the buck. All aluminum, good fit, less than $

Turbo.M777 11
I have a Magpul AFG. Works great for a shotgun and doesnt take much stress from recoil based on its angled design
thebuns1 4,323
I just wish Troy made more products that I could use. But for the OP, I cant say for the other grips mentioned, but the grip pod is tuff too but will run a bit more money, even almost double what the Troy costs. And the Troy grip isnt cheap by any means for what it is. Good luck in your quest and let us know what you decide, and how you like it.
MT Predator 2,294
KZ Stubby on my S12. On other weapons, I run Larue, Magpul, Tango Down, and a F A Enterprises which is solid aluminum as well.
misterT 174
CRAP I just ordered a Hipoint folding vertical fore grip after firing mine with the new Md20 drum. Now I am not so sure this was a good idea, maybe I should have gotton a Magpul angled fore grip. Anyone use these with a drum. Is it enough to comfortably hold onto while reaching around the drum? I had the magpul RVG vertical grip and liked it, but the way I held the gun I went to the AFG2 and like it more. I have it on some other guns too and it works for me. No drums though.
