Every day!

Absolutely!

Same here, plus rallying the troops on other forums as well.

Lot of momentum is building up on Veteran's forums.

We need to keep the pressure on ALL THE TIME, until we purge the Gov'ment off the anti-Constitutional gun-grabbing new national-socialist lunatics and traitors.

Add-on: got acknowledgement from Renee Ellmers (R-NC), our new Representative, who replaced lame duck "good ol' boys' club" member and POTUS shadow) David Price (Dem, of course).

Also, checked her rating here (see your Reps rating and voting records):

Wish I could get this out of this section as it does not show unless you "look" for it.

Great job guys, I to send everyday, sent 2 today.

I agree, it doesn't show in "Recent Topics" in the side bar. There were complaints about this stuff being in the General Forum and if we were talking about any other political issue I'd be ok with that. But this issue has to do with the core reason this board exists. If Saigas are banned how long will Saiga-12.com last?

Letter for today;

Dear Sir,

I am writing to you today to reiterate my strong opposition to any measure that seeks to limit my ability to Keep and Bear Arms as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. Not only do such measures infringe on the rights of law abiding citizens, they are ineffectual as demonstrated repeatedly. The information is readily available to you if you only care to look for it. I ask that you be courageous in the face of rhetoric put forth by those who seek to harm us all for no greater purpose than to advance their political agendas and preserve their personal political legacies.

I implore you not take action that would take away what so many Americans have died for over the course of our history.

Respectfully,

If you agree with the wording please feel free to copy and paste.

17 days til the FeinBomb drops, maybe she thinks we'll grow tired by then. Will we?

I'm going to send the link from my post in the General Discussion form to my "list" right now;

http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/woman-hiding-kids-shoots-intruder/nTm7s/

In addition to the ability to resist a tyrannical government this is the essence of why they need to keep their hands off the Second Amendment. If you ever encounter someone (a reasonable person with an open mind, hard core anti-gunners, fuggitaboutit) who is not sure why "We The People" need firearms show them this article.

I just sent this to John McCain;

Dear Senator McCain,

As an American and Navy veteran I have always had great respect and gratitude for your service. I voted for you when you ran for president.

I know you have not always acted according to the party line and this is to be commended.

I hope now as we face one of the most serious threats in the history of our nation namely the move to disarm law abiding citizens you will stand with those of us who believe the right to self defense is essential and unalienable. Also the Second Amendment is as relevant now as it has ever been and cannot be altered or tampered with.

I understand that often in Washington to get things done there must be give and take and often compromises must be made.

But the fundamental rights that are at risk are not negotiable and I hope you will perform what arguably is the greatest service of your career by standing with law abiding citizens in protecting us against those who would disarm us.

Please use this letter if you wish.

Squishy,

You got a gift and I admire your literary prowess. Lucid, intelligent, concise and straight to the point. Thank you for posting these. Please keep them coming.

Form what I understand personal messages like these are the most effective but almost a wast of time on ideologues. With ideologues shear volume is the key. They only fear losing power.

Don't confine yourselves to your own district, once a day or week. Flood the phone lines, mail rooms, emails and petitions. Hammer local, state, city, county, federal offices with as much as you can afford in time and money. Go to marches, demonstrations and hook up with groups local and online.

Support lobiests, NRA, GOA, and NAGR. Sign up for email alerts and forward information and developments on to everyone.

This is our defining moment in history people. We the people do not have the luxury of letting someone else fight the battle this time.

Thanks for the kind words...if I could turn all this into a paying job I'd be good to go. wink.png

We all have talents and skills of one kind or another. You're right about being proactive. I'm sure some might doubt whether or not it makes a difference. But for my part, I'd rather not take the chance that it does and I did nothing.

A lot of people don't feel comfortable writing a letter, especially to someone they don't know. But I firmly believe that it doesn't have to be slick just sincere.

Just say what's in your heart. If you fear for your family and the future of your children, say so. If you have a personal experience that is relevant include it. Tell them a little about yourself, specific details aren't necessary. Just think, "If this person were sitting in front of me here's what I'd say". I am also convinced that expressing concerns in a respectful way is more effective than threatening to vote them out of office and such. But I won't say don't do it, it's your message so say what you will.

I'm going to write some more generic messages to post up here. I think not using the same form letter all the time like from the NRA site is a good idea.

If anyone has something maybe you've started and are having a hard time with or need help along these lines send me a PM I'd be glad to help in any way I can.

I had cause to bitch at AL Senator Jeff Sessions for voting for The Fiscal Cliff Bill.

And of course had to tie the AWB into it.

Dear Senator Sessions,
I'm greatly dismayed to see how how you voted on the matter of the Fiscal Cliff.
I wish you'd had the heart to hold out for real solutions to the problems plaguing our country.
And not just kick the can down the road.
Soon the road will end and that can won't go any farther.
It bothers me to see you vote in such a manner, and it will weigh heavily on me come next election.
I hope that in the future, your actions will negate this lapse and allow me to check your name on the ballot.

On another current issue:
I beg of you not cave in on the heart & soul of the 2A and vote for any of the Liberal's draconian new firearms/magazine bans.
The Founding Fathers put that Check/Balance in there for good reasons, and it wasn't to preserve any hunting heritage. It was meant to enable every able bodied man to defend their State & Country.
Remember why the Japanese with good reason were loath to contemplate invading the US? Now can you imagine this passing and another aggressor being not nearly so concerned?

Sincerely,
John xxxxx

Today's letter, feel free to edit, amend and use as you wish;

Dear Sir,

I can only imagine the chaos that exists now in Washington with regard to the flurry of anti-Gun Rights and Anti-Second Amendment initiatives being pushed by those who would deprive us of our UNALIENABLE right to keep and bear arms.

In an effort to accomplish their goals they make a mockery of long standing practices to ensure that laws are carefully considered and passed only after adequate fact finding and debate. They do this for political expediency, not for the benefit of US citizens.

As one who voted for you in effect hiring you to represent me in Washington I ask that you stand fast against this onslaught and keep those who would deprive us all of our rights, especially the right to defend ourselves and our families from all enemies including the sizable criminal element in this country (both in and outside government), at bay.

Now is not a time for the faint of heart and now is not a time to "go along to get along".

Give them NOTHING because it is certain that no matter what you give up today, tomorrow they will be back for more.

Law abiding Americans are counting on you to be strong and uncompromising in this fight.

I am counting on you.

Respectfully,

Btw, I went directly to Lindsey Graham's website to submit this rather than through the NRAILA site. I think it may make a difference and it couldn't hurt as I'm sure after a while stuff coming through the NRA might all get stuck into the same box without much consideration. I don't know this for a fact but it can't hurt. I hate that they don't have a contact form setup yet for Tim Scott....

I just called republican.senate.gov, Lindsey Graham's office and Tim Scott's office and related to all my deep concerns about what is going on now and what will be coming in the near future. I made it point to say that while the normal thing in Washington is to compromise, when it comes to Gun Rights and the 2nd Amendment there should be NONE. Senator Scott's office actually talked to me instead of just listening....I recommend calling your representatives and telling them how you feel if you haven't already.
