cguiro 29
So I just got my saiga 12. Im in nj so I cant convert it but oh well. Anyway searching the internet for options to make the saiga 12 a reliable machine with any ammo I came across 2 things. A gas plug (by tac47) and a gas puck (by kvar). Visually I can identify them as two different items. But mechanically whats the difference and purpose of each item. And can they be used together or will they not work together. Thanks for yoyr help guys.
ChileRelleno 7,071
Gas plug regulates amount of gas used in cycling the action. Gas puck is blown back by gases, it contacts the op-rod of the bolt carrier, thus starting the cycle. You must have both for the gun to function, they work together. ewoketeer 35
The CSS Performance Puc should be considered, See Paulyski's thread about it. After reading about his findings, I got one and did my own informal check. I got some ammunition that wouldn't cycle with the OEM puc, then changed to the CSS puc. It allowed my S-12 to cycle flawlessly.
