armory 142
Need some help Identifying a magazine I stumbled across today. The gentleman in the old time gun shop had (4) AK47 magazines, he ALLOWED me to purchase only (1) magazine, for $25. I chose this waffle pattern, clear/smoke 30 rounder plastic with no identification on it, anywhere. Is it Bulgarian? No circle 10 marks.... Is it Tapco? or Promag? I thought they all were marked as such..... Any help would be appreciated!! Edited January 9, 2013 by armory

thebuns1 4,323
Yep. promags are patterned after the Bulgarian C10's, but made shittier. Prolly make a good range mag if it works, but I wouldnt use it for much more than that. FWIW, the clear C10 5.56 mags dont have steel feed lips either, like the rest of them. Only the front and rear tabs and the front of the mag opposite of the spine. All the others Ive seen have had full steel reenforcements. ETA: Not sure if its a promag or not the more I look at it. armory 142
Darn! Well, maybe he's old enough he won't remember that he sold me one already. Go in and see what he has tomorrow!
thebuns1 4,323
I thought all the promags were marked as well. Plus it dont look like a promag floorplate, unless its just the pic playing games. Havent seen any of their clear mags though. Plus it looks like its got a 30rd ct. hole in the spine? Again, may just be the angle of the pic. All the promags Ive used have been junk. Hopefully this one will be ok. I never had any luck with them. Havent seen any of their clear mags though. Plus it looks like its got a 30rd ct. hole, and my black pro mag dont have that either. It has NO markings anywhere. Took it apart and nothing is marked. thebuns1 4,323
Yeah that looks like a promag floorplate. I wouldnt trust them to hold up through hard use, but should be an ok range mag if you can get it to feed properly.
