XdamagedX 248
Browning A5 12g, I've wanted one for years. Brownings website tells me through my serial number, this workhorse was built in 1953.

gunfun 3,931
Those are fun. I like that wierd Ka-clunk..... Shunk cycle they have. It makes you feel like an old artillery piece. I understand they have some bronze drags inside that wear down and need adjustment. Have you got a chance to inspect those?
XdamagedX 248
Thanks. It's definitely a unique shooting gun, I love the *clink* sound it makes, Very cool. I pulled it apart, and the "friction rings" (?) are in excellent shape, and I BELIEVE they're the original. They have minimal wear, and the mag tube itself isn't scuffed and neither is the recoil spring. It looks like it was carried quite a bit, but not shot very much. gunfun 3,931
Cool. They might be called "drag shoes" but it's been a long time since I read about it. You basically have to dial it in to have the right drag for the ammo you are running. Thus people usually pick a load for those and stick with it.
