What do you guys like for .22 pistols? I really want a Ruger Mark 3 Hunter or Competition but I can't seem to find one locally.

What other makes/models do you guys like in a nice accurate target pistol?

I just picked up a Browning Buck Mark for $300 NIB

Its a great gun. It really came down to this and the 22/45, but with the Browning I just happened to be getting more features for a lower price.

I've had pretty good luck with my Ruger SR22. 2k rounds through it, and working like a champ. I have one mag that gives me feeding issues, but the other is rock solid, so I wouldn't blame the gun. Everyone I let shoot it seems to like it as well. Has adjustable grips and magazine floor plates to make it feel a little better in the hand.

I have a Ruger MK II, w/5" bull barrel. It is as stout as one could ask for in a .22 pistol.

The thing is absolutely sick in it's accuracy over a wide range of different ammo brands.

It's a helluva lot more accurate than I am.

The only minus is the disassembly. That can be a PITA for the first couple of times you field strip it.

If you can find one, get it.

adjc, you and I have the same pistol. Nice looking red dot set up you have there, and, those grips ROCK!

I went with the saddle mount for my red dot.

If you want to kick the snot out of a 41 for half the price, try to find a KMK-678G that's new in the box. Magazines are plentiful and it's very durable. The stainless steel ruger mark II government target model is an exceptional target pistol. The best thing about them is that they also keep you prepared to use your 1911. I could be wrong, but I believe the government used the rugers for training to cut cost. They would use the pistols for a while and when they figured it out, moved on to the 1911.

I've had mine for years. It can be fired hundreds of times before it becomes too gunked up to shoot. If you do get one, learn the trick to the takedown pin in the handle. If you line the tab up right, it will slide back together easily. If you don't know the trick, it will be a major pain in the ass and you may end up cussing.

My pistol shoots under one inch at 25yards with the cheapest ammunition you can find. Even better with RWS t or green tag. The target sights are easy to adjust and dont drift. The front sight post is pretty blunt but you will get used to it or change over. It is very similar ergonomically to the 1911.

I have a Beretta Neos that I love. Kinda goofy looking but it works great.

Always wanted to try one of those. They got really good reviews when they came out, and I liked the way they felt in the stores.

There were long standing contracts for the CIA and some the fancy branches of the millitary for integrally supressed MKIIs.

One of the forum members here has a 2206 that we put his suppressor on, and I can say that it feels like it was made for it. The barrel under slide arrangement puts the sights right on top of the suppressor. Also it only takes a $25 bushing to put threads on one.

There was a No Go infantry unit in the Midwest that had an internally suppressed MK2. It was pretty awesome. They were real gun nuts! This was back when your brass could say they were demilled and they just kept them locked up in the armory. They had all sorts of neat stuff. I also got to spray some .45 out of the old grease gun. They were pretty high speed!

I decided on an all black 22/45 lite. I did see the Neos and that thing looks like a laser pistol haha.

Will shoot it at the range tomorrow, then I might order the Volq trigger for it.

Volquartsen should be on megan's list for the prices they charge. See if Power Customs offers a trigger. IMO their products are as good or better than Volq w/o extortion.

Those tip- up Berrettas are fun, but they wouldn't be the first .22 pistol I got. I used to want one really bad for CC when I was wearing clothes that wouldn't hide a bigger gun well, but the baby .380s solved that problem in a similar sized package.

Same for the walther. It's a neat little pistol, but I know 2 people who broke them. They also seem to have QC issues. Some are picky about ammo others aren't. The good thing about them (depending on your perspective) is that they recoil a lot for a .22 and have a loud bang. Most people say they "feel like shooting a "real" gun...." There are also plenty of holster choices and tacticool things to glue on to them. Another plus is that they feel just like smaller versions of wather's 9 and 40, so what you learn on one transfers well to the other if you have both.

Here are some pictures I found on the interwebs of a setup like TTF has.

The 2213 is new to me, and I will probably pick one up some day just for this purpose.

I didn't see one at power cutoms. Yeah the trigger kit is $115 from Volq...
