Krtismo 1
Looking for recommendations for a side rail optics mount, I know there are a few options available and I would like to hear some opinions. Are there any to avoid? Thanks!
ufo 20
Side rail? Low, centered from Kalinka - BP-02.
corbin 621
Avoid duct tape. RS mounts are my favorite.
Krtismo 1
Side rail? Low, centered from Kalinka - BP-02. The low profile version of the BP-02 seems to be out of stock on Kalinka.
gunfun 3,931
Low profile with built in rings, not made by utg. There are several good choices. Almost everything with a weaver rail ends up being to high. Midwes Industries' may be the exception to that rule though.
Trespasser 7
Side rail? Low, centered from Kalinka - BP-02. I read that the BP-02 can cause FTE issues with the S12 in this thread: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/27250-anyone-using-the-belarus-bp-02-mount-successfully/ He mentions that the shells hit the mount; not just his EOTech. sapper1371usmc 107
What kind of optic do you want to run? I understand you said red dot, but are you talking H1, Pro/M2/M3/M4, acog, fastfire, rmr, eotech? Edited January 22, 2013 by sapper1371usmc

Yes but side rail and huge optics makes it normally... I prefer gastube-rail... You can still use side rail, modify rail and use small EOTech XPS...

I understand you said red dot, but are you talking H1, Pro/M2/M3/M4, acog, fastfire, rmr, eotech? I plan on using a cheap UAG Red Dot that I already own. Side rail? I prefer gastube-rail... Me too, but I don't want to permanently modify my front sight to install one. Unless you know another option? Here is my post on that topic: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/84237-optics-rail-options-for-sgl12-09 Edited January 22, 2013 by Krtismo
Mullet Man 2,114
RS Regulate side mounts are some of the lowest available.
BB42 4
The new RS Regulate AK 300 looks to be a winner. The older AKM was very good.
Trespasser 7
I ended up using one like this: As you can see, the forward vertical strut on the mount is angled farther back than most. I trimmed the portion of the rail which hangs over the front for better clearance. Now there are no portions of the rail which hang over the ejection port. There is also a screw which had to be adjusted to achieve a tight fit to the side rail. Properly adjusted, the rail can take a pounding. One negative with the rail is that it is slightly off center. I don't think this will be too much of an issue with a shotgun.
