rhill23977 0
Hello - I'm new to this forum but had a question regarding the magwell of my saiga 12. I didn't know any better at the time but I bought magazine and a drum from this shotgun that wont work with the magwell attached. I removed the magwell and cannot figure out how to make the magazine seat at all? Is there something else I need to add after the magwell is removed?
pedal2alloy 206
The opening in the receiver of the magwell gun is bigger than the non-magwell opening. It would be a big project to fill in the metal all around the opening. Better to just get some mags for the magwell rather than the other way around. An idea would be to make a magwell bushing that would attach to the opening and make it into a regular opening.

sapper1371usmc 107
Take a pic of the gun with the mag inserted. Even if the magwell is cut too large, I don't see how that would keep the may from fitting. Maybe a loose fit but as long as it functions who cares. You might just have to fit the mags to the gun. The receiver needs to be modified for the magwell to work. Rock-n-locks can no longer be used even after the removal of the magwell. Well, you can add back the material but like pedal2alloy said, better to just get magwell mags... Edited January 28, 2013 by HighPlainsDrifter
Big John! 2,062
Even if you overpaid, you can sell your mag and drum very quickly these days. Throw them up on Armslist.com and watch em disappear locally to you. Or you can put them up on Gunbroker and probably get more than you paid for your gun, haha... I'd honestly rather have a magwell than a drum.
mechsterbator 0
I might sound like a total noob with this question, but how exactly does one remove (albeit in this case, temporarily) the magwell? Does it require a special spanner wrench or something, or a trick I don't know about? If anybody is willing to post some pictures or a detailed description, that'd be appreciated.Needing to get around it somehow, so I can drill the hole in the bottom for a side-folder latch. pedal2alloy 206
You just knock out the pin to the mag release lever
HighPlainsDrifter 466
Here's another magwell question. I took my S-12 out to the range today and I lost the security nut and possibly a spring to the magwell/LRBHO. Take a look at the picture, I need help identifying what's missing and how should I go ahead replacing the parts? Edited: I posted my own thread on this matter. If you can help please respond to this thread. Edited March 4, 2013 by HighPlainsDrifter
