DaveInGA 0
Howdy all, I'm looking at potential scope mounts that fit a vepr super. From what I've read and seen, a standard AK style mount will not do so (too tall), but an SVD/SKS/Tigr mount/scope combination may work, since it's not as tall. I'm trying to find out how tall the SVD mounts are on average. The vepr super's rail is mounted very high and slightly forward, so as low a scope mount as possible is desirable. The scope rail that came with this rifle is an AK mount and fits my Bulgy Milled SLR-101 perfectly, but is way too high to mount a scope on the rifle. So I'm trying to find a scope with mount that might fit or be reasonably close.I'm looking at these scopes:http://kalinkaoptics.com/rifle-scope...d-version.htmlhttp://kalinkaoptics.com/rifle-scope...d-version.htmlhttp://kalinkaoptics.com/rifle-scope...d-version.htmlhttp://www.eastwavescope.com/index.p...tem=56&lang=enhttp://www.eastwavescope.com/index.p...tem=62&lang=enAnd others like them with the diopter (gotta have focus, my eyes aren't too great) and SVD/Tigr/SKS mount. What I don't know is how high the SVD mount raises the scope. If you have one of these scopes or a similar scope with the SVD mount, can you please take a measurement of the distance from the center of the rail attachment mount and the bottom of the mount that's above the rifle's dust cover? Please post the model of your scope and where you got it along with the measurements.Thank you,Dave
